Integrate Smartrr with Omnisend

Learn how to sync data from Smartrr with Omnisend

Written by Armintas Griežė

Smartrr is a subscription commerce platform that helps ecommerce brands manage recurring orders, subscription programs, and member perks. Connect it to Omnisend to trigger email or SMS workflows in real time when subscriptions are created, activated, paused, or canceled – perfect for subscriber onboarding, churn prevention, and re-engagement campaigns.

Before You Begin

  • You need a Smartrr account on the Growth plan or higher. Webhook functionality is only available on the Growth plan.

  • The integration is available on all Omnisend plans.

Setup Process

Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for Smartrr → click Connect now.

Step 2. Enable the integration features you want to use:

  • Subscription Activate

  • Subscription Create

  • Subscription Pause

  • Subscription Cancel

Omnisend generates a unique webhook URL for each enabled feature. Keep this page open – you'll need these URLs in the next step.

Step 3. In Smartrr, go to Integrations in the left sidebar → click the Webhooks tab → click Add Webhook.

Step 4. In the new webhook row:

  1. Click the Event Types dropdown and select the matching event (e.g., Subscription activate).

  2. Paste the corresponding Omnisend webhook URL into the URL field.

Repeat Step 4 for each feature you enabled in Step 2.

And that's it! Once your webhooks are saved, Smartrr events will start triggering in Omnisend.

Important: Subscription Created vs. Subscription Activate

If a subscription is created with an Active status (e.g., no trial period), only the Smartrr – Subscription Created event will trigger – not the Smartrr – Subscription Activated event. Make sure you enable Subscription Create to capture these subscribers.

FAQ

Do I need a separate webhook row for each event?

Yes, each event (Subscription Activate, Create, Pause, Cancel) requires its own row in Smartrr → IntegrationsWebhooks, with its corresponding Omnisend webhook URL.

Can I sync historical subscription data?

No, the integration only syncs events that occur after your webhooks are saved. Past subscriptions won't be imported.

Why didn't my workflow trigger after a Smartrr event?

Check the following:

  1. The correct Omnisend webhook URL is in the matching event's URL field.

  2. The correct event type is selected in the Event Types dropdown.

  3. The integration is enabled in Omnisend

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the app.
