Alia is a conversion and customer engagement tool embedded on your Shopify storefront. You can create multimedia lessons to educate users about your business and products, and ask questions to keep users engaged and invested in your business’s story.

In return for learning about your company, the user can earn a small discount at checkout. It’s a win for everybody — you get a new customer that’s invested in your company’s story, while the customer enjoys their savings and feels more confident in their purchase.

Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for Alia → click Connect now → Copy API Key.

Step 2. Go to your Shopify admin → find Alia app → go to Integrations and find Omnisend → click Connect.

Step 3. Paste the created API key and decide whether you would like to send a Welcome email to contacts coming from Alia to Omnisend → click Save.

Step 4. In Omnisend, check the box that I have completed all the steps and click Confirm.

And this is it! You should see an enabled integration.

Once Alia is connected to Omnisend, you can start syncing your contacts. Here's the list of values that can be passed to Omnisend:

You can automatically gather consent by enabling this in Alia settings.

Alia provides an option to create either lessons or tracks.

Step 1. Click Create a lesson.

It also includes an AI task generator that creates your lesson with just a click. This can be information about promotions, products, or even your store’s background.

Step 2. From there, you can create a reward (an incentive that the customer receives for completing the short lesson).

Step 3. You can then test the popup under the Preview Alia page to ensure it matches the information you want displayed.

Step 4. Hit Publish, which will take you to your Theme Settings, and you can save the new settings and exit out of the window.

And you're ready to go then! Once the lesson is completed, the Alia Reward Claimed custom event will be synced to Omnisend.

Step 1. Click Try track to switch from lessons.

Step 2. You can add different content blocks and questions, and in the same way, at the end, grant a reward.

And there you go! Once the track is completed by a contact, the Alia Poll Answer custom event will be synced to Omnisend.

There are 2 events passed with the info regarding the claimed reward and submitted polls.

Based on this information, you can send a follow-up email with the reminder regarding the discount code or the information that was provided as an answer in a poll.

To do this, go to Automation → Create workflow → Create from scratch.

Select the trigger:

Add custom fields and personalization tags to show the contact's claimed reward and personalize your message.

​Why don't my Alia contacts trigger the Omnisend Welcome flow?

You can edit the integration and check if you have selected an option to send a welcome email through Omnisend to contacts coming from Alia.
