When you receive a text message, your phone always tells you something about the sender. Either it says the name of the company or the number of the SMS message sender, it may even show both if you have that contact stored on your phone. The name we are using for the contact record is what we call the SMS sender's name.

Important Limitations
Amount of characters
The amount of characters one can use for the sender's name depends on whether it is a name or a number. If you’d like to enter your company name, for example, you will be limited to 11 characters. Unfortunately, this limit is inherent to SMS as a format, and it cannot be changed. There is no official minimum of characters you should use, but most of the phones can't display 1 or 2-character sender's names. Therefore, we recommend using from 3 to 11 characters for the sender's name.
Allowed characters
You are free to use all lower case and upper case letters from the English alphabet as well as all numbers. Unfortunately, the use of special characters or emojis in the SMS sender's name is not available.
Spaces between characters
Apart from the limit to the number of characters, the spaces in the SMS sender's name are not available either. If your brand name consists of two or more words, we suggest sticking them into one word. For example, Joe's Bakery should go as JoesBakery.
Responding to your messages
The recipient won't be able to respond to this message directly. The response to the sent SMS message will bounce back to your recipient and will be shown as not sent.
Country Restrictions
Display of the custom sender's name in the text message your client receives depends on the country restrictions your client's carrier is based in. In the list presented below, you can see the list of countries and the information on whether they support the sender's name displaying or not. In case the sender's name is not supported in your recipient's state, our selected phone number will be displayed.
💡 To make sure all of your contacts recognize your brand, no matter whether the sender's name is supported, we recommend starting the message with your "BRAND NAME:".

The sender's name isn't supported for the US, but you'll get a dedicated phone number. So all the SMS messages will be sent from the same phone number each time you send a campaign or automatic SMS is sent.
