If you have previously used another email marketing service provider (e.g. MailChimp, Aweber, Constant Contact, etc.), you probably have already imported all your contacts to Omnisend. Make sure that you follow the following tips:

  • Import only those subscribers, who permitted to receive marketing emails from you.
  • Import only those subscribers, who have opened, clicked on emails or did any other interaction with your brand in the last 12 months. Older inactive contacts should not be imported.
  • Do not import contacts, who have bounced, unsubscribed or complained (marked your emails as spam).
  • If you previously used MailChimp, you can use our Import from Mailchimp feature.

Other ESPs might handle bounces differently than Omnisend. You should double-check whether your bounces have not been included when you uploaded your contacts. For example, when you export a list from Constant Contact, it consists of all email addresses in your list, including bounced email addresses. If all of the bounces are imported into the Omnisend list, it could result in campaign’s suspension. Multiple campaign suspensions will cause termination of your Omnisend account.

It is also highly important that you warm up your sender reputation after migration, before you send to the whole contact list. Learn how to build engaged segments and which contacts you should send your promotions to first.
