Benefits of Wix integration

  • Channels: Email, SMS, Facebook Custom Audience, and Google Customer Match;

  • Automations: Welcome emails, Abandoned Cart, Order Confirmation, etc.;

  • Expanded subscriber list segmentation with enriched data;

  • Full reports of campaigns and automations;

  • Campaign Booster.

Integrating Omnisend to Wix

To integrate your Omnisend account to your Wix website, you will need:

Step 1. Register an Omnisend account.

Step 2. In your Omnisend Dashboard, click Connect store to open Wix store connection wizard. You can also connect your store from your profile menu.

Step 3. Pick Wix as a platform for your online store:

Step 4. Follow a 3-steps connection wizard:

Step 1 is to add Omnisend app at Wix Market:

Once you open Wix App Market by the link, click Add to Site:

Confirm adding Omnisend to the site again:

NOTE! Omnisend app is only available for sites with a custom domain. You need to upgrade to Premium and get a 1-year free domain.

Open your Omnisend connection wizard again and follow Step 2. You need to copy the API key provided in the second step and paste it into Omnisend settings on the Wix side.

Then paste it on Wix → click Update settings:

You can edit the integration settings in this step as well:

  • Switch between syncing all the contacts and subscribers only;

  • Turn on the Product live sync;

  • Turn on the Orders live sync;

  • Turn on the Abandoned carts sync;

  • Sync all the existing contacts and orders at once.

Note! To sync the historical orders and products from your Wix store, make sure to turn on the toggles next to the 'Orders' and 'Products' fields.

Once you update the API Key and finalize the integration settings, get back to the connection wizard and press Confirm API connection as Step 3:

All done now; your Wix store is now connected with Omnisend.

Data Synchronization

After you complete the integration with Wix, Omnisend starts syncing data from your store. The information passed to Omnisend includes your order/contact/product data.

Note! The data that is synced to Omnisend depends on the integration settings you've selected. For example, if the toggle next to the 'Products' is disabled, the products won't be synced to Omnisend:

As for the contacts sync, you can see if all contacts will be synced or subscribers only. You can select the option that fits your needs the best in the integration settings in your Wix account.

NOTE! Please review the current data sync option in the app webpage in Plans & Pricing. The features are supported differently based on the Wix plan you choose. Data is synced on an API-key basis, so it's essential to follow the connection wizard step-by-step and add a valid API key on the Wix side.

If you want your customers to be able to subscribe at the checkout, make sure to check the box in the settings as shown below. Go to Settings → Ecommerce Settings → Subscription checkbox.

Automation Workflows

List of the supported automation events:

  • Abandoned cart;

  • Order placed;

  • Order status changed;

  • Contact enters/exits the segment;

  • Special occasion (Birthday);

  • Viewed page;

  • Signup.

The Viewed product event isn't supported because the integration doesn't add the $productViewed JS snippet to the product pages.

Also, below, you can find the most important information about how the automations work differently with Wix stores.

Abandoned Cart Automation

Cart information will be sent to Omnisend via API to allow cart abandonment emails. The Abandoned carts will be tracked if:

  1. The customer is logged in to the store account;

  2. The customer entered the email address during checkout;

If the customer is not logged in or abandoned before entering their email on the checkout, we cannot track them, as the cart information is sent via API only. It means that we're not able to track abandoned carts via cookies. More about Abandoned carts here.

Order Placed Event

Based on the Wix plan that you'll choose, different data will be sent. Make sure that Order sync is available on your Wix plan before setting up the Order placed automations in Omnisend.

Welcome Automation

To trigger the Welcome automation in Omnisend, when a contact subscribes via your Wix Signup forms, you'll need to create a segment of subscribed contacts:

Then use this segment as a trigger filter in the automation workflow based on the 'Contact enters a segment' trigger. Also, make sure to keep the 'Re-trigger workflow...' feature disabled. If this option will be enabled, customers will be able to subscribe → unsubscribe → subscribe again, and receive welcome emails multiple times.

If you're using Omnisend Signup Forms to collect contacts, you should use the Signup trigger. More about this here.

Browse Abandonment Automation

Viewed Page trigger allows you to trigger workflows for customers who have viewed a specific page after they've signed up via one of the Omnisend Signup Forms or clicked a link in one of your emails/SMS sent from Omnisend. More about Browse Abandonment workflow here.

Pricing

Since this integration is done by a 3rd party app, they have their own pricing in place to use Omnisend app. It’s important to understand that you will have to pay 2 bills (1 for the Wix data sync App and 1 for Omnisend plan). To learn more about their pricing, open Omnisend under Wix App Market and scroll a bit.
