One more fundamental thing in ecommerce email marketing is the email campaign itself. You can call it a newsletter, bulk email, or promotional email. Each email campaign has its reports on opens, clicks, sales, etc.

Creating a campaign

To start sending your first bulk email campaign, navigate to the Campaigns tab on your Omnisend account and click Create Campaign

Our Email Campaign wizard leads you through the five-step process of creating an email campaign. At the beginning of this process, you can choose a responsive email template that best fits your email campaign idea. All our email templates are mobile-friendly, so you don't have to worry about that.

With our drag-and-drop Email Editor, you can quickly build your email campaign without having any technical HTML knowledge. Follow this link to find a complete guide on building a Successful Email campaign and using Omnisend's Drag-and-drop Email Builder.

Furthermore, you can send SMS campaigns; follow this link for a step-by-step guide to successful SMS campaigns.

Testing a campaign

After building your campaign, remember to test it. In the Builder, you'll find the Preview, which shows you how your email will look on a computer screen or mobile device. Also, you can send test emails to ensure that it looks great. After all, when the campaign is ready, you can send it immediately or schedule it for later.

Campaign Booster

Don't forget to use our great feature - Campaign Booster - that gives you a second chance to poke your customers and grab their attention if they skipped the campaign the first time. Your boosted campaign will only be resent after a selected number of hours to those customers who have not opened or clicked on the initial campaign and are most likely to purchase. You can be sure that it will increase your open and click rates and boost your sales!

Sending a campaign

When sending a campaign, you'll have the option to send it to all the customers or specific segments.

Also, you'll have the option to exclude specific customers from the recipients' list by using the 'exclude segment' option. For example, if you don't want to send to inactive customers, just go to the Audience → Segments → Create Segment → Lapsed email subscribers to create such a segment.

Then exclude it from the list of all the customers you're sending to.

Note! You can select up to 15 segments for the campaign to be sent to/excluded combined (e.g., 10 segments for the campaign to be sent to, excluding 5 others)
