Before You Begin
You can create new segments in Shopify using their built-in tools and logic. For instructions, see Shopify Help Center – Creating customer segments.
Segments synced from Shopify are read-only in Omnisend. To make changes, edit the segment in Shopify.
Synced segments update automatically every hour, so your Omnisend audience stays current with Shopify changes.
💡Tip: Use Shopify Segments Sync when your Shopify segmentation logic can't be recreated in Omnisend; for example, segments built with Shopify Flow tags, purchase intent scores, or Shopify-exclusive custom filters.
Setup Process
Step 1. Go to your Shopify admin. Navigate to Customers → Segments. You'll see your existing customer segments listed.
Step 2. Click the segment name you want to sync. This opens the segment's detailed view, showing the query logic and customer list.
Step 3. Click Use segment. In the top right corner, select Use segment. This button shares your segment with connected apps like Omnisend.
Step 4. Select Omnisend Email Marketing & SMS. From the list of available integrations, click Omnisend.
Step 5. Confirm the sync. A popup confirms that the segment will be copied to Omnisend and updated automatically. Click Copy segment.
You'll see a success message: "Segment copied to Omnisend." Click Show in Omnisend to view it directly.
Step 6. View and manage in Omnisend. Your synced segment appears in Audience → Segments, labeled with the same name as in Shopify (e.g., "VIP Customers"). A note confirms it syncs every hour via Shopify integration.

Can I edit a Shopify synced segment in Omnisend?
No. Synced segments are read-only in Omnisend. To change filters or logic, edit the segment in Shopify, and updates sync to Omnisend within 1 hour.
Can I sync multiple segments at once?
No. You need to repeat the setup steps for each segment you want to sync.
