After you complete the integration with Intercom, you will get the following benefits:
Trigger different messages when the customer rates the conversation in Intercom.
Capture new email subscribers in your messenger home or right from the Intercom inbox.
Sync lead and client information so you can segment and trigger automation workflows based on tags, segments, and other attributes.
Setup Process
Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for Intercom → click Connect now.
Step 2. You'll be redirected to the Authorize tab, where you'll need to authorize access.
Finally, you’ll see the confirmation page and you can start using Omnisend for Intercom.
Trigger Automation When the Review Is Left
After you complete the integration with Intercom, the integration can trigger the Intercom Review Created custom event.
Later, this event may be used in the Automation workflow settings. Go to Automation → Create workflow → Create from scratch → select the Intercom custom event as trigger.
The trigger should be set to Intercom Review Created, while the trigger filter can take one of the following values:

Once you select the filter, you can also specify the allowed values. For example, you may send different emails to customers who leave a positive evaluation and to those who leave a negative one. You may even add two splits to send different emails for all three rates: positive, neutral, and negative.
Capture New Email Subscribers
Once the integration is complete on Omnisend side, contacts that start the ticket will be synchronized to Omnisend. You may also add a sign-up field to your messenger or to the conversation with the customer. See Intercom's knowledge base article on how to set it up.
Once you are done with all of the settings, click on the Save and set live button for the change to become visible in the Messenger.
Tag will identify the source of the contacts added to your Omnisend account as Intercom

Description can be used to encourage your customers to subscribe, provide incentive, offer the discount, etc.
Confirmation the information your customer will see after subscribing
When collecting your customers' opt-ins, you should also encourage them to read the marketing materials you send. Therefore, the best approach is to offer your customer the option to check their inbox for the discount code, thereby shifting the focus to inbox communication.
Trigger Welcome Automation
You can set up the automation triggered by the tag assigned in Intercom. However, keep in mind that contacts will be synced to Omnisend with a non-subscribed status (both email and phone number). If you want to ask customers to subscribe to your promotional content, make sure to include that option in your email. We advise using the preference management page link.

Both Phone and Email addresses are synced to Omnisend as non-subscribers.
Intercom User Tags
All tags added to Intercom are synced in real time and assigned to Intercom keywords (e.g., intercom: vip, intercom: engaged). If you want to trigger the automation based on a tag in the customer's profile, check whether the customer has a specific tag assigned to their account and create a segment based on it. Later, this segment can be used to trigger the workflow when the customer enters it.
FAQ
Is it possible to transfer contacts from a single Intercom account to multiple Omnisend accounts?
No, it is not possible. The initial sync will add all contacts to both accounts. Later, they might be filtered with the tags synced from Intercom.
