Happy Birthday is a 3rd-party app that helps you build brand loyalty with automated birthday discount rewards.
Happy Birthday integration with Omnisend will allow you to synchronize your contacts' birthday dates that are collected via the Happy Birthday Email & Discount app. You will then be able to use that information to trigger Birthday automation emails via Omnisend.
Before You Start
This integration is available only for Shopify stores.
All Omnisend plan users can integrate with the Happy Birthday app.
Benefits
You can collect your customers' sign-ups and birthday dates at your store check-out, after completing a transaction, or by sharing a link to the Landing Page inserted on your website.
Trigger a custom automation when the customer signs up.
You can use the Birthday date to trigger Birthday automation on your customers' special day.
Setup Process
Step 1. In Omnisend, go to → Apps → Search for "Happy Birthday Discount" → Click Connect Now → Copy an API Key.
Step 2. Install the Happy Birthday App in your store. And make sure the Omnisend app is already installed.
Step 3. In your Happy birthday account, click on the Integrations tab → find Omnisend → Paste an API Key that you copied in the 1st step.
Step 4. In Omnisend, select the box indicating that all steps are complete, then confirm the changes.
That's it! Your contacts' birthday dates will now sync from the Happy Birthday app to Omnisend.
Keep in mind that when the app is connected, we do not synchronize your existing contacts in the Happy Birthday Discount application. If you’d like us to initiate a sync between your Happy Birthday app and your Omnisend account, simply contact the Happy Birthday app support team. They’ll coordinate the setup and aim to complete the sync within 48 hours of your request.
Capturing New Subscribers and Their Data
When the integration with Omnisend is complete from the Happy Birthday side, your email subscribers will be added to Omnisend immediately. However, in addition to the email address, you may also push your customers' data.
Now, let's check how these properties are assigned to the customer's profile.
While other applications might not be able to assign a value to the default field, the Happy Birthday app can and can trigger Birthday automation.
Greet Your Customer on Sign-up
The Happy Birthday Discount application doesn't trigger the default welcome automation, but you may set up custom automation. There are a few properties you need to consider when setting up the segment settings for the automation workflow trigger:
Customers are passed with a subscribed status.
The opt-in and birth dates are assigned to the customer's profile.
Trigger Birthday Automation
Once the Happy Birthday app is connected to Omnisend, your clients' birthday dates will be available in Omnisend. Your default Birthday email automation workflow will trigger the workflow on successful sign-up.
This automation will give you another opportunity to greet your customers, offer incentives with the Discount code element, and encourage them to make a sale.
