Before You Begin
Before migrating from Klaviyo to Omnisend, make sure you've connected your ecommerce store to Omnisend and have access to your Klaviyo account.
If you're using our expert-assisted migration service, you'll also need permission to invite a new Admin user to your Klaviyo account.
Your historical Klaviyo campaign reports and statistics can't be transferred to Omnisend.
Important: Keep your Klaviyo account active until you've transferred all data, recreated your automation workflows, and verified everything works as intended.
Start Your Klaviyo Migration
If you selected Klaviyo as your previous email marketing platform during Omnisend signup, you'll see the Migration Dashboard after connecting your store and setting up your brand assets.
The dashboard guides you through connecting Klaviyo, starting your migration, and tracking its progress.
Connect Klaviyo to Omnisend
In the Migration Dashboard, select Continue to migration.
Follow the instructions to create a read-only Private API key in Klaviyo.
Enter your API key in Omnisend to start transferring your data.
Why do you need an API key? Omnisend uses the API key to access and import your contacts, segments, and engagement data from Klaviyo. The read-only connection allows Omnisend to copy this information without changing or deleting anything in your Klaviyo account.
Free Expert-Assisted Migration (250+ Contacts)
If you have 250 or more contacts in Klaviyo, you qualify for free expert-assisted migration, regardless of your Omnisend subscription plan.
Our Migration Team can help transfer and recreate your existing marketing assets, including:
Email templates: Your 10 most recent templates. You can request additional templates if needed.
Automation workflows: All live workflows. You can request additional workflows if needed.
Signup forms: All live forms. You can request additional forms if needed.
Contacts and segments: Your contacts and supported segments.
How it works
After connecting Klaviyo, you'll see the Bring in a migration specialist step.
Follow the instructions to invite our Migration Team to your Klaviyo account with Admin access.
Select I've given access once you've completed the invitation.
Our Migration Team will begin transferring and recreating your assets once the required access is confirmed.
You can track the progress in your Migration Dashboard. The migration typically takes around 5 business days after our team receives the required access.
⚠️ Keep in mind: Our Migration Team recreates your Klaviyo assets as closely as possible. Assets with equivalent functionality in Omnisend should generally be ready to use after your review.
Some Klaviyo features or third-party integrations may not have a direct equivalent in Omnisend. In these cases, our team recreates what is supported and flags anything that needs additional configuration or review.
Automatic Data Migration (Fewer Than 250 Contacts)
If you have fewer than 250 contacts in Klaviyo, Omnisend automatically imports your audience data after you connect your Klaviyo account through the Migration Dashboard.
This includes:
Contacts and their associated information.
Contact properties and subscription data.
Supported segments.
You don't need to grant additional expert access. The dashboard shows your migration progress, and your audience data should become available within approximately one day.
You can then recreate additional assets, such as email templates, signup forms, and automation workflows, manually.

If You Do Not See the Migration Dashboard
The Migration Dashboard is part of the onboarding experience when you select Klaviyo as your previous email marketing platform during signup.
If you already have an Omnisend account or did not select Klaviyo during signup, you can still migrate using one of the following options.
Request Expert-Assisted Migration
If you have 250 or more contacts in Klaviyo, request the free Kickstart migration service.
After you submit the request, the team will contact you within 1–2 business days with the next steps. Migration typically takes around 5 business days after the required access is provided.
Migrate Manually
If you have fewer than 250 contacts in Klaviyo, you can manually migrate your data in a few steps. Follow the steps below.
Migrate Klaviyo Assets Manually
If you're migrating manually or need to recreate additional assets after an automatic or expert-assisted migration, you can use Omnisend's tools to complete your setup.

Contacts and Segments
Omnisend has an in-app integration built to migrate your contacts, their data, and segments from Klaviyo. Read more about our Klaviyo Data Import Tool.
Note: It's not possible to move your reports or stats from Klaviyo to Omnisend.
Email Templates
You can recreate your Klaviyo email designs in Omnisend using the Email Builder or by importing existing HTML templates.
Review your imported designs and adjust any content, links, or styling as needed. Migrated email designs are available under Store settings → Saved templates. You can use a Saved template to create an Email Campaign or Automation Workflow.
💡 Use Omnisend MCP to recreate email designs. Connect Omnisend MCP to your preferred AI tool to create Email Campaigns in Omnisend. You can share a screenshot of your email design and ask the tool to recreate it using Omnisend Email Builder items.
In your prompt, specify that the tool should use Email Builder items instead of HTML. This helps ensure that your email remains easily editable in Omnisend.
Signup Forms
Use the Omnisend Forms builder to recreate your Klaviyo signup forms and popups.
You can customize their design, fields, display settings, and targeting based on the features available in Omnisend.
💡 Use Omnisend Agent to create Signup Forms from a prompt. Describe the form you want, and the agent will create it automatically based on your instructions.
Automation Workflows
Use Omnisend's Automation Builder to recreate your Klaviyo workflows.
You can start with an existing automation template or build a workflow from scratch, including its triggers, delays, messages, and conditions.
Note: Some Klaviyo-specific triggers, conditions, or integrations may require a different setup in Omnisend.
Review and Complete Your Migration
Whether you've used expert assistance, automatic data migration, or migrated your assets manually, review your setup before enabling automations and sending campaigns.
Use the following checklist:
Contacts and segments: Check that your contacts, subscription statuses, and important segments are available and accurate. Some engagement-based segments may need to collect new activity in Omnisend before they populate.
Email templates: Review designs, images, links, and content before using them in campaigns or automations.
Signup forms: Check their appearance, targeting settings, behavior settings, and redirects. Test that they collect subscribers correctly.
Automation workflows: Review triggers, delays, conditions, and messages. Test your workflows before enabling them. Learn more about Automation Workflows.
Account settings: Complete any remaining setup, including sender domain authentication, link domain authentication, SMS settings, and third-party integrations.
Note: Klaviyo and Omnisend may handle certain features differently, so your setup might not look or function exactly the same. If you're unsure how to recreate something you previously used in Klaviyo, contact our Support Team through in-app chat. We'll help you explore the available options.

Is migration from Klaviyo to Omnisend free?
Yes. Expert-assisted migration is available at no additional cost if you have 250 or more contacts in your Klaviyo account, regardless of your Omnisend subscription plan.

Can I request expert-assisted migration if I don't see the Migration Dashboard?

Yes. After submitting the Kickstart migration request form, you'll receive a confirmation email acknowledging your request and providing an estimated migration timeline. Migration typically takes around 5 business days after our team receives the required Klaviyo account access.
Our Migration Team will contact you if any additional information is needed. Once your migration is complete, you'll receive a separate email confirming completion.
Where can I find my migrated campaigns?
Email Campaigns are not migrated as campaigns. Migrated email designs are available under Store settings → Saved templates. Use a Saved template to create a new Email Campaign or Automation Workflow.
Why do I need to accept an access invitation after submitting the Kickstart service form?
After you submit the Kickstart service request form, our team sends a separate access invitation email to connect your Klaviyo and Omnisend accounts securely. This invitation allows our migration specialists to access your account data and recreate your workflows. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for the access invitation and accept it. This is not the same as resubmitting the request form – it's a one-time permission step required for our team to proceed.
Is the Kickstart service free? Do I have to pay anything?
The Kickstart migration service is free if you have 250 or more contacts in Klaviyo, regardless of your Omnisend subscription plan. There are no additional charges for the migration service.
If I submit the Kickstart service form on Friday, when will I hear back?
Kickstart service requests submitted on weekends or Friday evenings are processed on the next business day (Monday). Our migration team operates Monday through Friday. Expect to hear back within 1-2 business days from the next weekday after you submit the form.
I've imported my contacts, but I don't know how to recreate my Klaviyo workflows and popups. Can someone do this for me?
