Checkout Champ is a hosted checkout and CRM platform for ecommerce businesses that want faster checkout experiences and more control over post-purchase flows.
Instead of embedding checkout code into a storefront, Checkout Champ provides hosted checkout pages that can be linked from landing pages, ads, or ecommerce platforms.
These pages are optimized for speed, with load times of one second or less.

Benefits
Connecting Checkout Champ to Omnisend allows you to send real-time checkout and order events to Omnisend for email and SMS marketing automation.
With this integration, you can:
Track key customer actions such as checkout started, orders placed, cancellations, and refunds
Trigger Omnisend automations based on Checkout Champ events
Segment contacts using order, product, and campaign data
Apply tags to contacts based on Checkout Champ routes and campaigns
Sync customer subscription status for email and SMS based on CRM opt-in settings
Checkout Champ sends both standard and custom events to Omnisend, along with relevant order and customer properties, allowing you to build targeted campaigns and flows based on customer behavior.
Setup Process
Step 1. Open the App Market in Omnisend → search for Checkout Champ.
⬇️
Step 2. Click Connect now to generate an API key → copy the API key.
Step 3. In Checkout Champ, go to Admin → Plugins → Email Service Providers → locate Omnisend → click Activate.
Step 4. Paste the API key → choose whether to send Welcome automation emails to synced contacts → click Connect.
Friendly Name is an internal label used in Checkout Champ to identify the Omnisend connection. It is not shared with Omnisend and does not affect event tracking.
Step 5. Return to Omnisend → check I have completed all the steps → click Confirm.
Once completed, Checkout Champ and Omnisend are successfully integrated. However, we still need to configure Campaign Routing. This is what we'll see next.
What Data is Passed
As you may already know, Standard Event Tracking in Checkout Champ refers to a predefined set of core ecommerce events that are automatically generated during a customer’s checkout and order lifecycle.
When Standard Event Tracking is enabled for an Email Service Provider (such as Omnisend), Checkout Champ sends these events automatically whenever they occur, without requiring custom event setup.
These events represent the most common and important customer actions, such as starting checkout, placing an order, or receiving a refund.
Contacts are subscribed to email and SMS based on the emailOptIn and marketingOptIn values sent from Checkout Champ when the customer is created or updated in the CRM.
If a customer does not have email or SMS enabled in Checkout Champ, the contact is sent to Omnisend as non-subscribed.
Campaign Routing and Custom Events
Standard Event Tracking is configured per campaign in Checkout Champ. When adding Standard Event Tracking to a campaign, you can choose to:
Apply it to a specific Checkout Champ campaign, or
Apply it to all campaigns
To enable Standard Event Tracking for a campaign, open the Omnisend plugin in Checkout Champ and add a route by clicking + Route under Campaign Routing.
In the Add Campaign Route window, select Standard Event Tracking as the Customer Type, choose a specific campaign or All Campaigns, then click Create.
You can also add routes for other Customer Types. Events sent through these routes are delivered to Omnisend as custom events. Optionally, add one or more tags (comma separated). These tags are applied to the contact in Omnisend and are also included as event properties.
This allows for more advanced segmentation and targeting in Omnisend.
What Events are Included?
Standard Event Tracking includes the following events:
Started Checkout
Placed Order
Paid for Order
Ordered Product
Fulfilled Order
Cancelled Order
Refunded Order
Each event is sent with relevant customer, order, and product properties, where applicable. For a complete list of fields sent to Omnisend, you can check the Checkout Champ documentation here.
