StockIQ is a Shopify app that helps merchants manage out-of-stock products and automate back-in-stock notifications. With StockIQ, you can hide or push down sold-out items, automatically re-show restocked products, collect back-in-stock subscribers, and monitor low-stock or out-of-stock products.
By connecting StockIQ with Omnisend, you can sync customers who subscribe to back-in-stock alerts and use Omnisend to send automated back-in-stock email campaigns.
Benefits
Hide or push down sold-out products in your collections automatically.
Let customers subscribe to back-in-stock alerts directly on product pages.
Sync back-in-stock contacts to Omnisend when a notification is triggered.
Trigger an Automation Workflow when a customer subscribes to a back-in-stock alert.
Trigger an Automation Workflow when a product or variant is back in stock.
Segment contacts based on product or variant interest.
Use stock demand data to plan restocking and inventory campaigns.
Setup Process
Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → StockIQ → Connect and copy your API key.
Step 2. In StockIQ, go to Back-in-Stock Alerts → Email Template & Domain. Under Email Delivery Method, select Omnisend, paste your API key, click Verify, and then click Save Settings.
The integration is now active. StockIQ will pass back-in-stock contacts and restock events to Omnisend as customers are notified.
Once connected, Omnisend automatically creates an Automation Workflow and a pre-built back-in-stock email template for you.
The email is written in HTML and can be freely modified, but if you are not comfortable editing HTML, you can always delete the email and create a new one from scratch.
Important: StockIQ contacts are not tagged automatically. To identify and segment them later, add a Tag action to your Automation Workflow after the trigger step.
Collecting Email Addresses in StockIQ
All you have to do is head over to Back in stock Alerts Widget, enable the button, and customize the form to your liking.
Contacts collected this way in out-of-stock product pages will not be passed to Omnisend until they need to be notified. Meaning either the specific product the contact signed up to be notified about is restocked, or you manually trigger a notification for them. Then, the contact will be created in Omnisend, and a custom event will trigger for them, causing them to enter the automation.
What Data Is Passed to Omnisend
When a customer subscribes to a back-in-stock alert, and the product becomes available again, StockIQ sends a custom event to Omnisend. This event includes key product and variant details that can be used to personalize your back-in-stock message and for segmentation.
The most important event properties include:
Property | Description |
The name of the product that is back in stock.
A link to the product page.
The product image URL.
The product variant title.
The product variant price with currency.
A pre-filled back-in-stock message.
