The number of Campaign recipients doesn't match the number of contacts in the Segment? Continue reading this article to sort everything out.

Understanding Contact Count

Since Omnisend is a multichannel platform, a single contact may have different subscription statuses (subscribed, nonsubscribed, or unsubscribed) across different channels. A segment can include contacts with any of these statuses.

However, when sending a campaign to a segment, Omnisend automatically filters it to include only contacts who are subscribed to the selected channel. This ensures your message is sent only to eligible recipients.

For example, if your segment includes contacts who have unsubscribed or never subscribed to your email marketing, they will be excluded from the campaign. You'll be notified that your campaign will only be sent to subscribed contacts.

If you'd like to check how many contacts in your segment are subscribed to a specific channel, you can add a subscription status filter.

Go to the Audience → Segments → find the segment or create a new one (Create segment button) → add a rule defining your contacts' subscription status. Make sure you connect it with the AND operator (if you have a group of filters).

You can filter contacts by subscription to Email, SMS, or Push Notifications within the same segment.
