The Image library in Omnisend stores all images and GIFs you use in email campaigns and automation workflows. All marketers compete for inbox attention. Images and GIFs provide visual cues that improve content views, email clicks, and conversion rates.
This article explains how to upload, organize, and delete images from your library.
Before You Begin
Setup: No setup required. Start using the Image library right away.
Storage: Unlimited storage. Upload and save as many images as you need.
Image Size: The maximum size of an uploaded image must be 5 MB.
Dimensions: Images need to be under 2000 pixels in both width and height. If your image exceeds these dimensions, you may need to resize it before uploading.
Supported File Formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIFs.
Note: Uploading images with a 5MB limit may result in upload failures or timeouts. For best reliability, compress images to under 5MB.
Upload Images to Your Image Library
You can upload images from your computer or a URL directly within the Email Builder.
Step 1. Open your email Campaign or email block in your Automation workflow → Drag and drop an image item to your email layout.
Step 2. Click on the image block → Click Select file on the right-hand menu.
Step 3. To add your image file, you can either:
Upload from URL: Paste the URL of the image.
Upload from computer: Select one image or multiple images to upload at once.
Note: When uploading from a URL, the link must be publicly accessible. Images behind authentication, VPN, IP restrictions, or staging environments will fail to load.
Once you select and upload the image from your preferred source, all the images will be stored in your Image library.
Navigate and Organize Your Image Library
The Image library lets you sort, search, and preview your images.
You can:
Sort images: Name A–Z, Name Z–A, Newest to Oldest, Oldest to Newest.
Search images: Enter a file name in the search bar.
Change preview mode: Switch between Tiles or List view.
In the Image library, you can also:
Preview your image: Hover over the image → Click the arrows icon.
Copy the URL of your image: Hover over the image → Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to your image → Select Copy URL.
Delete a selected image: Hover over the image → Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to your image → Select Delete.
Note: Deleting an image removes it from your library but does not affect drafts you've already created. The image will remain in those emails. To remove the image from a draft, replace it manually in the Email Builder.
Add Image Item to Your Email
You can add any image from your Image library to email campaigns or automation emails.
Drag and drop the Image block into your email and select a file from your Image library.
Once added, the Image item includes two settings tabs:

Enable or remove paddings.
Add alt text.
Add a link to a specific webpage.
