A teaser is a small, clickable button that appears at the edge of your site and opens a popup form when clicked. Teasers are less intrusive than popups – visitors can browse without closing or interacting with the form. Use teasers to increase signup conversions while maintaining a seamless user experience.
In this guide, you'll learn how to add and customize a teaser for your popup form.
Before You Begin
Teasers are only available for popup and flyout forms (not embedded or landing page forms).
You can add a teaser to any existing popup form or create a new form using a teaser-enabled template in the Forms Library.
Once a contact subscribes via the popup or teaser, we stop showing the teaser to them.
Teasers inherit your popup's visibility settings (mobile-only, desktop-only, or both).
Setup Process
Option 1: Add to Existing Popup
Step 1. Go to Forms and open the popup form you want to edit.
Step 2. In the bottom menu, click + Add option → Select Teaser.
Option 2: Create New Popup with Teaser
Step 1. Go to Forms → Create form.
Step 2. Select 'Teaser' from the left-hand menu and pick any templates you like.
💡 Use this option if you're creating a new popup and want a pre-designed teaser included.
Configure Teaser Behavior & Style
Once you enable the teaser, you'll see a settings panel with Teaser and Style tabs.
Teaser Settings
Teaser text: Customize the message to highlight your offer (e.g., "Get 10% Off," "Join Our Newsletter").
Timing: Choose when to show the teaser:
Show until form is opened – Teaser appears on page load. Clicking it opens the popup. Once the popup is closed, the teaser disappears. Best for reducing screen clutter (mobile-friendly).
Show after form is closed – Popup appears first. After closing, the teaser remains visible as a reminder. Ideal for keeping your offer accessible without overwhelming visitors.
Always visible – Both popup and teaser appear on page load. Teaser stays visible after the popup is closed. Use this to maximize visibility.
Close button: Toggle Show close button to let visitors dismiss the teaser.
Style Settings
Teaser shape: Choose Square, Circle, or Triangle.
Corners (Square only): Select square, slightly rounded, more rounded, or specify a custom border radius.
Colors & borders: Customize background, border, and text colors. Adjust border width and style to match your brand.
Font & size: Select font family, size, and text decoration (bold, italic).
Position: Choose where the teaser floats on the page (e.g., bottom-left, bottom-right, center-left). The teaser moves as users scroll.
Tip 💡 Larger font sizes increase teaser dimensions.
Enable Your Teaser Form
Once you've configured the teaser, click Enable form (if not already enabled) or Update live form (if form already enabled) in the top-right corner to make it live on your site.
FAQ
Why does my teaser appear immediately even though I set it to show after the popup closes?
Your teaser timing and popup display trigger are separate settings. Check that:
Teaser timing is set to "Show after form is closed" (not "Always visible").
Your popup display trigger (Behavior > Display) is configured correctly (e.g., "Time on page: 10 seconds").
Test in a new incognito window after saving to clear browser cache.
Note: Setting your popup to appear after 10 seconds does not affect when the teaser shows. Configure teaser timing separately in Teaser Settings.
Can I add an image or icon to the teaser button?
Currently, the teaser button supports text and emoji only.
Do teasers work on mobile?
Yes. Teasers inherit your popup's visibility settings. If your popup is set to show on mobile, the teaser will too.
