Setup Process
First, you need to select your data warehouse and determine where your collected data will be stored. In this documentation, we'll show you how to integrate Omnisend with BigQuery. There are two methods for integration:
By making API requests. This requires the developer's input and reading the API documentation.
No-code solution where Portable will do all the work automatically.
We'll show the steps to integrate with a no-code solution for simplicity.
Step 1. Create an API Key. In Omnisend, go to → Apps → Search for "Portable" → Click on "Connect Now" → Copy an API Key.
⬇️
Step 2. Create an account in Portable.
Step 3. Click on Add a source → select Omnisend → paste an API Key you created earlier in Omnisend and save changes.
⬇️
⬇️
Step 4. Add a Warehouse. As mentioned, you can select any of the allowed ones, but in this case, we'll choose BigQuery.
After selecting your destination, enter all the required information and click Save.
Step 5. Set up a flow. As a source, select Omnisend, and as a destination, choose your selected data warehouse.
Step 6. Select your schedule and click Save and Run.
After initiated, all of your data is synced to your selected destination:
Step 7. In Omnisend, check the box that all the steps are done and confirm the changes.
And that's it! Omnisend is integrated with Portable.io.
What Data Is Passed
Since data sync depends on Omnisend's API capabilities, right now, the following information can be passed:
Contacts.
Orders.
Products.
Campaigns.
Carts.
Categories.
What fields are passed in each? You can visit our API documentation for more detailed information.
Use Cases
The integration between Omnisend and Portable.io enables seamless syncing of all your marketing and customer engagement data into a data warehouse like BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, and more. This centralization gives you full ownership of your Omnisend data - campaigns, automations, subscribers, and performance metrics of campaigns - making it instantly accessible for analysis, reporting, or modeling.
With the data warehouse as your single source of truth, you can build custom dashboards in tools like Looker or Power BI, combine Omnisend data with ecommerce or ad platform data for advanced attribution. The setup is no-code, reliable, and scalable, letting you focus on extracting insights instead of managing pipelines.
For example, we can create a simple graphic with a table to check which contact has spent the most in X days based on specific products:
