Integrate Reorbit with Omnisend

Learn how to integrate Reorbit with Omnisend

Written by Andrés

Reorbit is a Shopify app for loyalty programs, product reviews, referrals, and retention messages. Connect Reorbit to Omnisend to send loyalty, review, and referral moments as custom events, sync each customer's loyalty standing to their contact profile, and trigger email, SMS, or push automations in Omnisend.

Setup Process

Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for Reorbit → click Connect now → copy the generated API key.

Step 2. In Reorbit, go to Settings → Integrations. In the Omnisend section, paste the key and click Connect.

Reorbit checks the key before saving it. When it succeeds, you'll see Connected to, followed by your brand name and the last four characters of the key.

Step 3. Return to Omnisend, check the box I have completed all the steps → click Confirm.

Step 4. Choose which messages Omnisend sends. Connecting doesn't move any message on its own. In Reorbit, go to Settings → Automated messages, open a message, select Omnisend under Delivery, and save. Repeat this for each message you want Omnisend to send.

The change takes effect on Reorbit's next nightly run. Messages that were already prepared still go out on their previous channel. Changing the channel doesn't turn a message on; make sure the message itself is enabled.

Step 5. Let one event reach Omnisend, then build your automation. In Omnisend, go to Automation → click Create workflow → Create from scratch. Under Trigger, open Please select event → choose the Reorbit event, and design your email, SMS, or push message.

Important: The first event doesn't trigger an automation

A custom event only appears in the automation builder after Omnisend has received it once. The first event Reorbit sends registers it, and every send after you build the automation triggers it. The quickest way to register an event is a referral: when a friend claims a referral link, Reorbit Referrals - Referral Claimed reaches Omnisend immediately, while other events wait for the nightly run.

And that's it! Reorbit now sends the selected events to Omnisend.

What Data Is Passed

Reorbit sends the following custom events to Omnisend.

  • Events marked as nightly are chosen once a night, so a message you switch on today sends from the next run.

  • The four Repeat events are off by default and send nothing until you turn them on in Reorbit under Settings → Automated messages → Marketing messages.

  • Referral events have no Delivery setting: they go out immediately to every messaging provider you have connected in Reorbit.

FAQ

Why didn't my first event trigger my automation?

Omnisend only offers a custom event in the automation builder after it has been received once. The first send registers the event. Build the automation after that, and the next send triggers it.

I switched a message to Omnisend, and nothing happened that evening. Why?

The change takes effect on the next nightly run, and anything already prepared goes out on its previous channel. Check again after the next run, and make sure the message itself is enabled in Reorbit.

Does Reorbit subscribe my customers in Omnisend?

No. Sending an event creates or updates the contact, but Reorbit doesn't change their subscription status. Your automation can send email, SMS, or push, as long as the contact has the relevant consent in Omnisend.

What should I check if events don't arrive in Omnisend?

In Reorbit, go to Settings → Integrations and click Test connection. If Reorbit says Omnisend is rejecting the key, go to Apps in Omnisend, remove Reorbit, then reinstall it to get a new API key. Then paste the new key in Reorbit using Replace key.

If Reorbit says it couldn’t reach Omnisend, wait for the next check: events keep being sent, and failed ones are retried. If the issue persists, contact our Support Team.
