Integrate Memberply with Omnisend

Learn how to connect Memberply with Omnisend

Written by Armintas Griežė

Memberply helps Shopify merchants manage memberships, tiers, benefits, cancellations, and membership expiry. Connect Memberply to Omnisend to sync membership information as custom properties and use it for segmentation, personalization, and reminder flows.

Benefits

  • Sync membership status and tier information to Omnisend.

  • Personalize messages based on a member’s current tier.

  • Create reminder flows for memberships approaching expiration.

  • Track scheduled and completed membership cancellations.

  • Keep membership data up to date without changing marketing consent.

Before You Begin

  • Memberply checks existing contacts every 15 minutes and updates their membership properties in Omnisend.

Setup Process

Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for Memberply → click Connect now → Copy API Key.

Step 2. In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Memberply → Integrations. Find Omnisend and click Manage integration.

Step 3. Paste the Omnisend API key into the API key field and click Save settings.

Step 4. In Omnisend, confirm the settings, and that's it.

What Data Is Passed

Memberply syncs the following custom properties to Omnisend:

Property name

Description

memberply_member_status

The current membership status: active or inactive.

memberply_membership_product_shopify_id

The Shopify product ID for the active membership tier. This property is cleared when the member becomes inactive.

memberply_membership_tier_name

The active Memberply tier name. Use it for segmentation and email personalization.

memberply_membership_cancellation_scheduled_at

The scheduled cancellation date when a member cancels at the end of the billing period.

memberply_membership_cancelled_at

The timestamp when Memberply marks the membership as inactive.

memberply_membership_expires_at

The effective membership end date in UTC, including imported expiry dates and tier expiry rules. This property is cleared for inactive memberships or memberships without an expiry date.

How the Sync Works

The integration checks for changes to the membership expiry date. You can use memberply_membership_expires_at to create reminder flows for members whose membership is approaching its expiry date.

If you create an Omnisend reminder flow, disable any matching native Memberply reminders to avoid sending duplicate messages.

FAQ

Does Memberply change marketing consent?

No. Memberply updates membership properties without changing the contact’s marketing consent, and new contacts are synced with non-subscribed status.

How often are existing contacts checked?

Memberply checks existing contacts every 15 minutes. Large syncs or syncs with errors may take longer.

What happens to the membership properties when a member becomes inactive?

memberply_member_status changes to inactive. The memberply_membership_product_shopify_id property is cleared, and memberply_membership_expires_at is cleared for inactive memberships.

What is the format of memberply_membership_expires_at?

The property contains the effective membership end date in UTC.

Can I create membership expiry reminder flows in Omnisend?

Yes. Use memberply_membership_expires_at to create reminder flows. Disable matching native Memberply reminders to avoid duplicate messages.

What should I check if the properties don’t update?

Check that:

  1. You copied the correct API key.

  2. You pasted the key into the Memberply Omnisend integration.

  3. Enough time has passed for the next sync.

  4. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app.
