Signup Forms: Display Settings

Learn how to configure Display settings to show your Signup Form based on visitor behavior, page rules, or custom website actions

Written by Chaymae

Display settings control when your Signup Form appears based on visitor behavior. You can show the form after a visitor views a specific number of pages, spends time on a page, scrolls through your content, or is about to leave your website.

Before You Begin

Display settings vary by Signup Form type. Use the table below to see which options are available.

Step 2. Go to Behavior Settings → select Display.

Personalized Triggers

Personalized triggers give visitors another opportunity to engage with your Signup Form. Omnisend Agent uses visitor behavior to show the form once more when the visitor is most likely to interact with it.

Under Display, turn on Personalized triggers.

Important notes:

  • Personalized triggers are available on the Pro plan and on the Standard plan as a paid add-on. If you're on the Standard plan, you can either upgrade to Pro or purchase the Forms Plus add-on.

  • Personalized triggers can show the form one additional time. Confirm the final interaction with Frequency settings before publishing this section.

  • Personalized triggers follow the form’s Frequency setting. They can trigger the form one additional time within the same session. After that additional display, the configured Frequency interval must pass before the form can appear again.

  • If the visitor submits the form, it will not appear again.

Page Rules

Page rules display your Signup Form when a visitor meets a selected condition.

  • Page Visits: Show the form after the visitor views a specified number of pages.

    • Example: Show the form after the visitor views three pages.

  • Time on Page: Show the form after the visitor spends a specified amount of time on the page.

    • Example: Show the form after the visitor spends 10 seconds on the page.

  • Scroll Depth: Show the form after the visitor scrolls through a specified percentage of the page.

    • Example: Show the form after the visitor scrolls through 50% of the page.

  • Exit Intent: Show the form when the visitor appears ready to leave the page. Exit intent detects visitor movement, including fast upward scrolling.

    • Example: Show the form when a visitor quickly scrolls upward or moves toward leaving the page.

Note: Exit intent is not a time delay. If you want the form to appear after a specific number of seconds, use Time on page.

Multiple Page Rules

When you enable multiple Page rules, the form appears when any one condition is met. Page rules use OR logic.

For example, if you enable Time on page and Scroll depth, the form appears when the visitor reaches the time limit or the selected scroll percentage.

Custom Trigger

Use a Custom trigger to display a Signup Form after a specific action on your website, such as a button click.

To use a Custom trigger:

  1. Under Display, select Custom trigger.

  2. Copy the code snippet shown in the Form Builder.

  3. Add the snippet to your website code.

  4. Configure the website element that should trigger the form.

Important notes:

  • A Custom trigger overrides all other Display and Targeting rules. The form appears only when the custom event fires.

  • Custom triggers can be used only with popup, flyout, and fullscreen forms.
