Creating a Cross-Sell Segment

To build a cross-sell segment, start by identifying contacts who have purchased specific products. Go to Segments → Create segment → Create from scratch Add filter → Ordered product Product title is.

You can also segment your contacts based on the product collection, tag, or vendor.

The list of product-specific filters includes, but is not limited to:

Product collection (Raw/Product/Collections/Title)
Product collection ids (Raw/Product/Collections/Id)
Product ID (Raw/Product Id)
Product tags (Raw/Product/Tags)
Product title (Raw/Title)
Product variant name (Raw/Variant Title)
Product vendor (Raw/Vendor)

By combining different rules, you can identify which products are most popular among high-value customers or discover commonly purchased categories. Use this data to build segments and target contacts with related or frequently bought-together products.

Using Cross-Sell Segments

Once you've created a cross-sell segment, you can use it in a variety of targeted messaging strategies to increase engagement and boost revenue:

  • Send targeted campaigns promoting a specific product collection to contacts who have previously purchased from that same collection.

  • Create cross-sell automations that use conditional splits to deliver different messages based on the segment a contact belongs to, tailoring content to their past purchases.
