Integrate WP Fusion with Omnisend

Learn how to integrate Omnisend with WP Fusion

Written by Armintas Griežė

WP Fusion is a third-party WordPress plugin that allows you to connect WordPress websites with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and other marketing automation tools. It's designed for you to integrate and synchronize data between your WordPress site and external platforms.

Before You Begin

  • WP Fusion has a Lite version and a full version. Omnisend supports both versions. With a paid plan, you'll get more features.

  • The store must be connected to either WordPress or WooCommerce in order for it to work.

Benefits

Connecting WP Fusion to Omnisend will allow you to send more personalized and targeted emails, help organize and target your audience more effectively, and trigger automatic emails based on user actions on your site.

  • Track purchases and subscription statuses;

  • Recover abandoned carts.

Setup Process

Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for WP Fusion → Click Connect nowCopy API Key.

Step 2. As per WP Fusion's documentation, in order to install the full version, you need to upload the zip file of the plugin once it's purchased. Go to your WordPress dashboard → PluginsAdd New PluginUpload Plugin → Select the zip file that's located on your device and click Install now.

Step 3. From the Select CRM dropdown, select Omnisend → enter the API key that you generated earlier → enter the license key for automatic updates and support. For the Lite version of WP-Fusion, there's no need to enter a license. Press Save Changes to complete the integration process.

Step 4. To enable site tracking, you need to enable Site tracking in WP Fusion. Go to General Settings → under the "Omnisend Settings" section, check the Enable Omnisend site tracking box and enter your Brand ID.

Brand ID can be found in your Store settings in Omnisend.

After entering the Brand ID into the field, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Once enabled, WP Fusion will automatically add Omnisend's tracking script to the footer of all your pages. This will help you track contact activities, which you can use later in your automations and segmentation.

Step 5. In Omnisend, check the box that all the steps are done and click Confirm.

And that's it! WP Fusion will now establish a direct connection to your Omnisend account and import your tags and custom fields.

What Data is Passed

Here's the list of values that can be passed to Omnisend:

  • Email Address

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Address

  • Birthdate

  • City

  • Country

  • Gender

  • Postal Code

These are the default Omnisend fields. You can also pass other fields as a custom property in Omnisend.

Mapping Fields

Step 1. Go to the Contact Fields section to see what fields can be mapped to Omnisend.

Step 2. Select the fields you'd like to map and assign them to Omnisend's field correspondingly.

Note: If you’ve just added a new custom property in Omnisend, it may not appear in the dropdown of available fields. Begin typing the name of the new field, and if no matches are found, click the “Resynchronize” link that appears in the dropdown. The new custom property will be loaded from Omnisend, and you should see it appear once you retype the name.

Additional Data Passed

Once you upgrade to a paid plan in WP-Fusion, there's an option to download and upload to your WordPress admin different WP-Fusion add-ons, one of which is the Event Tracking Addon, which can send events in real time from supported plugins to Omnisend. For more information, see the documentation.

Step 1. In your WP-Fusion account, where your license is stored, you can download the Event Tracking Addon and upload it to your WordPress admin.

Step 2. Go to Settings in WordPress → Event TrackingAdd trigger. You can add a user-related custom event or an order-related custom event.

Step 3. Name your event and start adding key-value pairs so you know which info you want to pass with it. Proper personalization tags are provided within the add-on. At the end, don't forget to click Save Changes.

Step 4. There's also an option for you to test your custom event and see how it appears in Omnisend.
