Zigpoll lets you run on-site, email, and SMS surveys. You can use these surveys at key moments with your customers to gather valuable contextual feedback. Zigpoll's most popular use case is as a post-purchase survey.

Setup Process

Step 1. Create an API Key. In Omnisend, go to → Apps → Search for "Zigpoll" → Click on "Connect Now" → Copy an API Key.

Then, search for Zigpoll in the search field and select it from the list.

Copy the API key and proceed with the next steps.

Step 2. Install Zigpoll from the Shopify App Store.

Step 3. After completing the installation, go to Integrations (in Zigpoll) → turn on the toggle near Omnisend → paste your copied API Key, and make sure to save the changes.

Step 4. Return to Omnisend and check the box confirming that all steps are completed. Then, click confirm.

And that's it! Contacts from your surveys will be synced to Omnisend.

By default, surveys have a feature enabled called Allow edits which allow contacts to edit answers in the survey. While this enabled, Zigpoll will sync contacts ~15minutes after the submission. If you wish for contacts to be synced right after submission, you can disable this feature by going to Surveys → SELECT YOUR SURVEY → Settings → Behavior → Turn off the toggle near Allow edits.

What Data is Passed

When contacts complete a survey, tags and custom properties will be synced to Omnisend. However, in the survey, ensure that you include an email address field for the contact information to be synced; otherwise, custom properties won't be synchronized.

All other field types will be passed as custom properties. Slide names in Zigpoll will be transformed into custom property names in Omnisend. For instance, if you have "Color" in the slide's name, the custom property in Omnisend will appear as 'Zigpoll_Color.'

Here's an example illustrating how a slide collects color and number in Zigpoll and how this is reflected in Omnisend.

Before creating slide names, keep in mind that in Omnisend, special characters are not supported. If you name a field with a special character, custom properties will not sync.

Use Cases

You can use custom properties for different use cases:

  • Segment contacts by specific custom properties and send campaigns or automations to recipients interested in one or other topics.

  • You can send welcome automations to contacts who have completed a specific survey. To learn how to send segment-based welcome automations – read our article by clicking here.

  • Use personalization tags in emails to populate collected information.
