Omnisend AI: Reports AI

Use Reports AI to ask questions and get AI-generated insights and recommendations across all Omnisend reports

Written by Chaymae

Reports AI is an AI-powered assistant available throughout Omnisend Reports. Instead of manually reviewing charts and filtering metrics, you can ask questions in plain language and receive AI-generated insights based on your account's reporting data.

Reports AI works across all report pages – and keeps processing in the background even when you navigate elsewhere in the app.

Note: Reports AI is available on paid plans only. To check your current plan, go to Store SettingsPricing and usage.

What Is Reports AI?

Reports AI is a conversational assistant built into Omnisend Reports. Type a question or select a predefined prompt, and Reports AI analyzes your account's reporting data and responds with insights – including data tables, trend breakdowns, and actionable recommendations.

Every conversation can cover all supported reporting data in your account, regardless of which page you started from. You can ask about campaigns, workflows, forms, sales, products, and deliverability in the same conversation.

After answering, Reports AI suggests follow-up questions you can click to keep exploring your data without typing a new prompt.

Before You Begin

  • Reports AI is available on paid plans only. To check your plan, go to Store SettingsPricing and usage.

  • Reports AI analyzes the reporting data available in your Omnisend account. Accounts with limited reporting history may receive less detailed responses.

  • Responses depend on the data and date range available in your account.

  • Reports AI generates insights and recommendations, but does not make changes to your account or reports.

  • Conversation history is stored for your current login session only and is cleared when you log out or click Start over.

  • AI-generated responses might be inaccurate. Always verify key insights against your actual report data before making business decisions.

Benefits

  • Ask in plain language – No need to manually filter or compare metrics. Type your question and get a structured answer.

  • Cover all your data in one conversation – Every Reports AI session can answer questions across all reporting areas in your account, not only the report you started from.

  • Get insights and recommendations together – For forms and workflows, Reports AI combines performance data with optimization suggestions you can apply directly from the chat.

  • Keep working while it processes – Reports AI runs in the background. Ask a question, navigate elsewhere in Omnisend, and return when your answer is ready.

  • Continue the analysis naturally – Click suggested follow-up questions after answer, or type your own to dig deeper.

Access Reports AI

To access the standalone Reports AI page, go to ReportsReports AI.

You can also access Reports AI from any Reports page in Omnisend – including Sales, Products, Campaigns, Automation, Forms, and Deliverability – as well as from the Dashboard Overview.

💡 Reports AI is also available within individual reports for campaigns, workflows, and forms. Click Get summary to engage with Reports AI.

Use Reports AI

Start a Conversation

You can start a Reports AI conversation in two ways:

  1. Type your own question in plain language in the chat input field.

  2. Select a predefined prompt from the suggestions shown in the interface.

Navigate to any supported page, then type your question or select a prompt to begin.

💡 Click More suggestions to see more predefined prompts.

Get an AI Summary of an Individual Report

When you open an individual campaign, workflow, or form report, you'll see a Get summary button above the report data.

  1. Open an individual campaign, workflow, or form report.

  2. Click Get summary.

Reports AI summarizes campaign performance to date. For workflows and forms, it summarizes performance for the selected date range. After the summary loads, you can continue the conversation and ask about any other reporting data in your account.

💡 Tip: The selected date range is automatically applied to workflow and form reports when generating the initial summary.

Continue With Follow-Up Questions

After answering, Reports AI can suggest clickable follow-up questions so you can keep exploring related data without typing a new prompt. You can also type your own question at any time.

💡 Your full conversation history is available throughout your current login session, so you can come back to it after navigating to other pages.

Work in the Background

Some questions take additional processing time. If you navigate away while Reports AI is generating an answer, it continues in the background.

A progress indicator shows that your answer is still being generated. Once it's ready, you'll receive a link back to the original conversation. The completed answer opens in a new browser tab.

Start Over

To clear your current conversation and begin a new one, click Start over in the top-right corner.

Use Cases

Understand Your List Growth

Use this to get a clear picture of where your new contacts are coming from and which acquisition sources are underperforming.

Try this prompt: "How is my recent list growth doing? Evaluate each channel separately against the longer-term trend and month-over-month changes. Focus on what's happening now – don't summarize the full history."

Reports AI returns a channel-by-channel breakdown of subscriber growth and unsubscribes across Email, SMS, and Push – showing monthly trends over a longer historical period. It flags specific events that stand out, such as a mass-unsubscribe spike following a list import, and identifies which channels are actively growing versus stalled. The response closes with a clear summary of your list's overall health and what to investigate next.

💡 Tip: To get AI-generated recommendations for improving your Signup Form performance, use one of the predefined prompts available in the Reports AI, such as How's my list growing? or Create monthly form performance summary. These generate a performance summary alongside specific recommendations. You can apply them directly from the chat using the View all or Launch test buttons that appear with each suggestion.

Review Your Last Month’s Performance

Use this to get a quick overview of how your marketing channels performed last month and identify anything that needs attention.

Try this prompt: "Summarize last month's performance."

Reports AI returns a cross-channel performance summary for the selected period, covering key metrics such as emails sent, open rate, click rate, delivery failures, and attributed revenue. It highlights what stands out – such as a high failure rate or zero revenue – and provides context to help you identify the most actionable issue before your next send.

Find Your Best-Performing Campaigns

Use this to identify which campaigns are generating the most value – by total revenue or by order quality.

Try this prompt: "Which campaign generated the most high-value orders this quarter? Rank them by average order value."

Reports AI returns a ranked table of campaigns with attributed orders, total revenue, and average order value. It also adds context – for example, flagging campaigns with a high order value but a small send volume – so you can interpret the data accurately before acting on it.

Audit Your Automation Performance

Use this to understand whether your Automation workflows are contributing revenue and which ones may be worth reviewing or activating.

Try this prompt: "Which automation workflows are currently active and how much revenue have they generated in the last 30 days? Which high-value workflows are inactive?"

Reports AI shows which workflows have been sending and their attributed revenue. It also calls out workflows that are set up but not active – such as abandoned cart recovery, welcome series, or browse abandonment – and flags them as potential revenue gaps worth exploring.

💡 Tip: To get AI-generated recommendations for improving your automation workflow performance, go to ReportsAutomation and select a predefined prompt in the Reports AI chat. These generate a performance summary alongside specific recommendations you can act on directly from the chat.

Investigate Deliverability Metrics

Use this to see which deliverability metrics changed the most and identify areas that may need attention.

Try this prompt: "Which deliverability metrics changed the most over the last 30 days compared to the previous 30 days? Show the biggest increases and decreases with the exact values and percentage change."

Reports AI returns a metric-by-metric comparison across three areas – volume and delivery, engagement, and list health – showing exact values and percentage changes for each. It flags the biggest increases and decreases, and adds context to help you interpret them correctly.

Troubleshooting

Reports AI Is Not Available

Reports AI is available on paid plans only. If you can't access it, verify that you're on a paid plan under Store SettingsPricing and usage.

The Response Is Taking a Long Time

Some questions require more processing time. You don't need to stay on the page – Reports AI continues in the background. Navigate elsewhere in Omnisend and return when you receive the notification link with your completed answer.

The AI Response Seems Inaccurate or Unexpected

AI-generated responses are based on the reporting data in your account and may occasionally contain errors. If a response doesn't look right:

  • Cross-check the information against the relevant report page in Omnisend.

  • Rephrase your question with more specific details – such as a date range, channel name, or campaign name.

  • Use Reports AI insights as a starting point and always validate before acting on them.

My Conversation History Is Gone

Conversation history is stored for your current login session only. If you've logged out and back in, your previous conversation will not be available. Start a new conversation from any supported report page or the standalone Reports AI page.

The "Get summary" Button Is Not Visible

The Get summary button is only available inside individual reports – such as a specific campaign, workflow, or form report. It doesn't appear on overview or list pages. Open an individual report to find it.

FAQ

Can I ask about reports other than the one I opened Reports AI from?

Yes. Every Reports AI conversation can cover all supported reporting data in your account, regardless of which report you started from. For example, if you open Reports AI from a Forms report, you can still ask about campaigns, automation, or sales in the same conversation.

Do I have to use the predefined prompts?

No. You can type your own question in natural language at any time. Predefined prompts are there as a starting point – they're especially useful for quickly generating form or workflow recommendations or summarizing report performance.

Will Reports AI make changes to my account?

No. Reports AI generates insights and recommendations. Applying a recommendation is an action you take manually.

Does Reports AI replace the standard report pages?

No. Reports AI is a complementary tool that helps you interpret data faster. For detailed metrics, raw data, and historical comparisons, use the standard report pages in Omnisend.

How is the data in Reports AI responses calculated?

The date grouping depends on the data type. For subscriber growth, data is recorded by the day each event occurred. For campaign and messaging data – including opens, clicks, and revenue – numbers are grouped by the day each message was sent. Each response includes a note at the top showing the date range, timezone, currency, and how data is grouped.
