Customize Signup Form Success & Subscribed Messages

Learn how to change the message on the sign-up form depending on the request status

After a visitor submits your Signup Form, they expect a confirmation of their subscription status. Success messages show when a visitor subscribes for the first time, while Subscribed messages show when a visitor is already subscribed. This lets you customize offers, set expectations, and reduce confusion.

Success vs. Subscribed Messages

After submitting your Omnisend Signup Form, subscribers can see one of the following messages:

  • Success message: Displays when a visitor submits your form for the first time and becomes a new contact in your Audience. Use this to welcome new subscribers, deliver discount codes, or set expectations (e.g., "Check your email for your discount").

  • Subscribed message: Displays when a visitor who is already in your Audience submits the form again. Use this message to thank returning visitors, remind them they’re already subscribed, or provide the same discount to both new and existing subscribers.

💡 Tip: If you've enabled double opt-in, customize your Success message to inform subscribers. For example: "Check your email and click the confirmation link to complete your subscription and receive your discount."

Edit Success and Subscribed Messages

Step 1. In the Form Builder, click the Success or Subscribed tab at the bottom menu.

If your form is missing one of these messages, click + Add option and select either Success or Subscribed message to add it.

Step 2. Edit the message content.

You can add the following items to your Success and Subscribed messages:

  • Text: Add a text block to display a confirmation message, share additional details, or provide next steps (e.g., "Check your email for your discount code").

  • Button: Add a clickable button that directs subscribers to your store, a specific product page, or any URL. Use buttons to drive immediate action (e.g., "Shop Now").

  • Image: Add brand visuals, product images, or celebratory graphics (e.g., confetti, thank-you illustration).

  • Line/Space: Add a horizontal line to separate sections or a spacer to add vertical padding.

  • Discount:  Insert a discount block to display your discount code. You can enter a static code manually or use the Wheel of Fortune discount.

  • Countdown timer: Add a countdown timer to create urgency for limited-time offers or promotions.

💡 If you're using a Landing Page form, you can enable the After subscribing redirect to option in the Success and Subscribed messages to automatically redirect subscribers to a selected URL after they submit the form.

Note: With Multistep Forms, Success or Subscribed messages appear only after all steps are completed. If a contact submits Step 1 (e.g., email) but closes the form before Step 2 (e.g., phone number), they won't see a success message.

Remove the Subscribed page

You can remove the Subscribed page if you want both new and existing subscribers to see the same Success message. This is especially useful for forms like Wheel of Fortune, where all visitors should receive the same offer.

To remove the Subscribed page, click the three dots next to the Subscribed tab → Click Delete.

Customize Error Messages

Error messages appear when a visitor submits the form incorrectly (for example, leaves a required field empty or enters an invalid email address). You can customize them in two ways:

  • Customize error message text: For each input field in your form (such as email address or phone number), click the field and enter your custom error message.

  • Customize error message color: Go to Theme settings Fields, then select the Error color you’d like to use.

FAQ

Can I redirect users after they submit my pop-up form?
Popup forms don't support automatic redirect after submission. To direct subscribers to another page, add a button to your Success message so they click it and get redirected.

Why does my landing page's success message show briefly before redirecting?

This behavior is expected if you’ve enabled the auto-redirect option, which is available only for Landing Page forms.

When this option is enabled, visitors are automatically redirected to the selected URL immediately after the Success or Subscribed message is displayed. As a result, the message may appear only briefly before the redirect occurs.
