99Minds is a third-party app that works with BigCommerce, Shopify, WooCommerce, and other ecommerce platforms. With its pre-built workflows, you may send gift cards to your clients automatically.
By integrating 99Minds with Omnisend, you can send Gift Cards to your customers in no time. Also, you can automate multi-channel workflows based on specific triggers with Omnisend, which will increase your sales. A welcome series or order confirmation messages will help buyers feel more confident.
Setup Process
Step 1. In Omnisend, go to Apps → search for 99minds → click Connect now.
Step 2. Click Copy API Key, but don't click the Confirm button, and don't close the page yet.
Step 3. Go to your BigCommerce account and open the 99Minds account. Go to Settings → Integrations → select Omnisend.
Step 4. Paste the API key on the next step and click Save.
Step 5. Enable the Send transactional events to Omnisend option after the integration is set up.
Step 6. Go back to Omnisend, check the box I have completed all the steps, and click Confirm.
That's it! The integration is enabled. Proceed with the next steps to start sending Promotional Gift Cards in Omnisend emails.
Send Promotional Gift Cards using Omnisend
To send a Gift Card, you first need to create an Automation on Omnisend.
Step 1. Go to Automation → Click on New Workflow → Click on Create Custom Workflow.
Step 2. Click the Trigger block → Choose 99minds-SendGiftcard event from the drop-down.
Step 3. Drag and drop an Email block to your workflow. Next, complete all required steps to set up the email, then click Edit Content.
Step 4. Design your email content.
Note: Make sure to add all the needed info about the Gift card to one of the Text blocks of your email. So, a customer can use their Gift card.
Step 5. Create a segment of customers you want to send the gift cards to and save it.
⚠️ Important: Avoid including a large number of contacts in your segment. Automation Workflows are not designed to send emails in bulk the way Email Campaigns are, so sending to a very large segment will take time. Consider targeting a focused group – for example, loyalists or champions, using Customer Breakdown lifecycle stages.
Once the segment is created, go to Audience → Export → New Export → Contacts in a specific segment → select your segment → Download.
Upload the downloaded file to 99Minds. Then click Choose File → 99minds Campaigns → Select Campaign → Enter Gift Card Amount and Send.
The workflow you set up will trigger and send an email to every contact for whom a gift card was created.

The following properties are passed with the 99minds-SendGiftcard event:

99Minds also sends four additional custom events to Omnisend:
99minds-OrderPlaced - Every time a new gift card order is created. Once a customer buys a Gift Card for himself/herself, the automation triggered by this rule will send a confirmation email to the customer.
99minds-GiftSent - Every time a Gift Card is sent as a gift. Once a Gift Card is purchased as a gift for someone else, the automation triggered by this rule will send a confirmation email to the customer who purchased the Gift Card.
99minds-GiftReceived - Every time a gift card is received as a gift. Once a Gift Card is purchased as a gift for someone else, automation triggered by this rule will send a confirmation email to the recipient.
99minds-GiftcardRedeemed - Every time a gift card is redeemed. Once the Gift Card is used as a payment method at checkout, the automation triggered by this rule will send an email to the Gift Card owner informing them of how much they used and how much is left on the Gift Card.
