Popsmash is a 3rd party app that provides tools to generate sales leads and grow your email list from Instagram by converting your Instagram followers into email subscribers with Instagram giveaways. Instagram giveaways are an effective email capture tool because they incentivize opt-ins to build your email list. This also builds your customer data profiles by capturing valuable customer data in addition to email addresses, like location, gender, and more, with user consent that's all synced to your store.

Integrate Popsmash with Omnisend to grow your Omnisend email subscribers list.

Setup Process

To sync the subscribers collected by Popsmash you need to make sure that Popsmash app is installed in the same Shopify store as the Omnisend app.

Then on the first step of creating a Popsmash campaign, select Omnisend as the ESP you want to sync the subscribers to:

POPSMASH Omnisend integration

Once those two steps are completed, Omnisend will automatically receive new or updated subscribers from your Popsmash campaigns.

What Data is Synced

All the contacts collected by Popsmash are synced to Shopify, where they're synced from to Omnisend along with these properties:

  • Email address (subscribed status);

  • Email opt-in date;

  • City;

  • State;

  • Country;

  • Postal / zip code;

  • tags: popsmash, social network: social_network_name (value depends on the platform where the campaign has been submitted, e.g. social network: instagram), gender: male/female.

Note! Popsmash determines subscriber's gender based on the name. If their system isn't able to determine the gender based on the name, this contact tag won't be assigned to the contact profile in Shopify, therefore it won't be available in Omnisend.

Sending Welcome Email to Popsmash Subscribers

Firstly, create a segment based on the 'popsmash' tag:

Once the segment is created, create an automation workflow based on Contact enters a segment trigger, and select your segment as trigger filter:

Then design the email(s) you want to send to contacts collected by Popsmash and start the workflow.
