Alia is a conversion and customer engagement tool embedded on your Shopify storefront. You can create multimedia lessons to educate users about your business and products, and ask questions to keep users engaged and invested in your business’s story. In return for learning about your company, the user can earn a reward in the form of a small discount at checkout. It’s a win for everybody — you get a new customer that’s invested in your company’s story, while the customer enjoys their savings and feels more confident in their purchase.

Setup Process

Step 1. From your Omnisend store, go to Store Settings → API keys.

Step 2. Click "create API key" → set all permissions, or for passing contacts at least → copy it and click save. Here's more info on generating API keys.

Step 3. Then go to your Shopify admin → find Alia app → go to Integrations and find Omnisend → click "Connect".

Step 4. Paste API key created on step 2 and decide whether you would like to send Welcome email to contacts coming from Alia to Omnisend → click save.

And this is it! You should see an enabled integration.

What Data is Passed

Once Alia is connected to Omnisend, you can start syncing your contacts. Here's the list of values that can be passed to Omnisend:

  • Email;

  • Phone number;

  • Consent;

  • First name;

  • "alia" tag.

You can gather consent automatically by checking this in Alia settings.

Also, there are 2 events being passed:

  • Alia Poll Answer;

  • Alia Reward Claimed.

How it works

Alia provides an option to create either lessons or tracks.

Let's take a look at lessons first.

Lessons

Step 1. Click create a lesson. It also includes an AI task generator, which creates your lesson with just the click of a button. This can be information about promotions, products, or even your store’s background.

Step 2. From there, you are to create a reward (something that the customer achieves for completing the short lesson).

Step 3. You can then test the popup under the “Preview Alia” page, to ensure it matches the information you want displayed.

Step 4. Lastly, you will hit “Publish,” which will take you to your “Theme Settings” and you can save the new settings and exit out of the window.

And you're ready to go then!

Now, you can also set a track instead of a lesson.

Tracks

Step 1. Click "try track" and switch from lessons to it.

Step 2. You can add different content blocks and questions, and same way at the end grant a reward.

FAQ

Why my Alia contacts don't trigger Omnisend Welcome flow?

You can edit the integration and check if you have selected an option to send welcome email through Omnisend to contacts coming from Alia.

Can I send a follow-up email after lesson or track was submitted?

Yes, you can! As you can see, there are 2 events passed with the info regarding claimed reward and submitted polls.

Based on this information, you can send a follow-up email with the reminder regarding the discount code, or which information was provided as an answer in a poll. You need to create a custom workflow.

Select the trigger.

And add custom fields personalization tags.
