Live View shows real-time customer activity on your store, including page views, product interactions, cart additions, and orders. Use it to identify engaged visitors and trigger personalized Automation Workflows.
⚠️ Important: Live View events are displayed for the last 7 days only and cannot be exported. To save event data, create a segment using event-based filters and export it from Audience → Exports.
Before You Begin
Requirements:
Your store must be connected to Omnisend
Contacts must be identified through one of these methods:
Contact has Omnisend cookies in their browser (Cookies can be added):
After the contact has signed up via an Omnisend Signup Form
After they clicked a link in a message sent by Omnisend that brought them to your website
After the contact has placed their first order (WooCommerce stores only)
Contact is logged in to their store account
Contact enters their email at checkout
⚠️ Important: Live View tracks identified contacts only. A visitor must first be added to your audience before their activity appears in Live View. Anonymous visitors are not tracked.
Platform support:
Live View is available on Free, Standard, and Pro plans for Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and API stores. For custom platforms, complete the frontend integration first.
💡 Note: The events Omnisend tracks depend on your platform and how contacts are identified (see table below).
Using Live View
Access Live View:
Go to Dashboard → Live View
You'll see two sections: Overview and Live View
Click Live View to view real-time tracking
How Live View Refreshes
Data refreshes every 5 seconds
Up to 50 new events load per refresh
Events are shown for the last 7 days only
If you have high traffic, older events may scroll out of view as new ones appear. For comprehensive tracking, use Contact Profiles or create a segment and export it.

FAQ
Why isn't Live View showing my store visitors?
Live View only tracks identified contacts, not anonymous visitors. A visitor must first be added to your audience before their activity appears. This happens when they:
Sign up via an Omnisend Signup Form
Click a link in an Omnisend email
Log in to their store account
Enter their email at checkout
To test: Sign up via your Omnisend form, then browse your store. Your activity should appear in Live View within 5 seconds.
How do I test if Live View is working?
Sign up via your Omnisend Signup Form (or click a link in an Omnisend email you sent yourself)
Browse products or add items to cart on your store
Go to Dashboard → Live View
Your activity should appear within 5 seconds
⚠️ Note: If testing in a private browser, complete step 1 first to place Omnisend cookies.
Does Live View track all visitors to my store?
No. Live View only tracks visitors who are identified contacts in your audience. Anonymous visitors without Omnisend cookies are not tracked.
To increase coverage, encourage visitors to:
Sign up via Signup Forms
Click links in your email campaigns
Log in to their store account before browsing
Why does Live View show no activity even though my store is connected?
Check:
✓ Is the visitor in your audience? Search for their email under Contacts.
✓ Does your store integration status show "Connected"? (Go to Store Settings → Connected Store)
✓ For custom platforms or BigCommerce: Is the tracking snippet installed?
✓ Did you test in a private browser without signing up first? Complete a Signup Form to place cookies, then test again.
How long does Live View store data?
Live View shows events from the last 7 days only. Older activity is not displayed. Data refreshes every 5 seconds, and up to 50 new events load at once.
Can I download or export Live View data?
No. Live View is a real-time activity feed and cannot be exported as a report. For historical reporting, use:
Reports → Campaigns (email/SMS performance)
Reports → Automations (workflow performance)
Audience → Exports (segment-based data)
Why do I see orders in Dashboard but no revenue in Live View?
Live View shows recent customer activity (last 7 days), not revenue attribution. For revenue reporting, use Reports → Campaigns/Automation or the Dashboard Sales Overview. Sales attribution follows different logic than Live View event tracking.
