Connect Yotpo Product Reviews to Omnisend to collect customer reviews, automate review request emails, and use review data to segment and personalize your marketing campaigns.

Before You Begin

  • Platform compatibility: You must have Yotpo Product Reviews installed in your store.

  • Historical data: Yotpo does not sync past reviews. Only reviews created after integration will appear in Omnisend.

Setup Process

Here is how you can integrate Yotpo with Omnisend:

Step 1. In Omnisend, click Apps in the top-right corner.

Step 2. Search for Yotpo Product Reviews and click Connect now.

Step 3. You'll be redirected to Yotpo. Log in and click Connect to authorize Omnisend.

You'll be redirected back to your Omnisend App Market. A notification will confirm successful integration.

 

How It Works

Once Yotpo is connected to Omnisend, each time a customer leaves a product review via Yotpo, Omnisend logs a custom event in real time. You can use this event to trigger automation workflows or segment contacts for targeted campaigns.

Note: Yotpo does not sync historical data.

Custom Event: Yotpo Review Created

Event fields:

  • Review score – Star rating (1–5).

  • Product title – Name of the reviewed product.

  • Product URL – Link to the product page.

  • Review title – Headline of the review.

  • Review content – Full review text.

Custom Properties

Omnisend also stores two custom properties on each contact:

  • Yotpo_latest_review_score – Most recent review score submitted by the customer.

  • Yotpo_number_of_reviews – Total number of reviews submitted by the customer.

Note: These properties update in real time. You can use them to filter segments or set workflow conditions.

Use Cases

1. Thank customers for leaving reviews

  • Trigger: Yotpo Review Created event.

  • Action: Send an automated thank-you email. Include the product name and review title using custom event fields:

    • [[event.product_title]]

    • [[event.review_title]]

Example: "Thanks for reviewing [Product Name]! Here's 10% off your next order."

2. Follow up with low-rated reviews

  • Segment: Customers with Yotpo_latest_review_score ≤ 2.

  • Action: Send a support outreach email or offer a discount to improve their experience.

3. Reward frequent reviewers

  • Segment: Customers with Yotpo_number_of_reviews ≥ 5.

  • Action: Send a VIP discount or early access to new products.

4. Showcase 5-star reviews in campaigns

  • Segment: Customers with Yotpo_latest_review_score = 5.

  • Action: Feature their reviews in a social proof campaign or ask for a testimonial.

FAQ

How often does review data sync from Yotpo to Omnisend?

In real time. When a customer submits a review in Yotpo, Omnisend logs the "Yotpo Review Created" event and updates custom properties (Yotpo_latest_review_score, Yotpo_number_of_reviews) within seconds.

Why don't "Yotpo Review Created" events appear in my Automation Workflow triggers?

Custom events display as automation triggers only after the event has passed to Omnisend at least once. If you just completed the integration, submit a test review or wait for your first live review. Once Omnisend receives the event, it will appear in the Automation triggers dropdown.

Do custom properties update if a customer leaves multiple reviews?

Yes. Yotpo_latest_review_score always reflects the most recent review. Yotpo_number_of_reviews increments with each new review.
