About Reviews

Our Omnisend Product Reviews solution will offer several ways to improve your customer feedback loop. You will be able to automate post-purchase product review requests, display positive product reviews in your Shopify store, emails, and forms, and improve your SEO rankings to attract more traffic.

Importing Reviews

If you're looking to import reviews to Omnisend, there are two ways to do it.

Follow the appropriate method described below based on where your reviews are stored, and you'll be able to import them to Omnisend in no time.

Export from Shopify

Before you can import your Shopify reviews to Omnisend, you need to export them from Shopify. Please follow the steps on the right side of the screen.

  • From your Shopify admin, click SettingsApps and sales channels.

  • From the Apps and Sales Channels page → click Product ReviewsOpen app.

  • Click Export.

If you have 100 reviews or fewer, then a CSV spreadsheet file downloads in your browser. If you have more than 100 reviews, then you receive a link by email to download your reviews as a ZIP file. When you receive the email, download and unzip the file to get the CSV file of your product reviews.

Once you have exported the file, click Next in Omnisend.

Import Reviews from Shopify to Omnisend

Click Browse files or Drag & drop the file into the field. Once selected, you will see that the upload is in progress. Click Next when the upload is complete.

That's it! You will see a page called import overview indicating the number of reviews found in the file. Click Finish to finalize the process.

Export from Other Platforms

If you choose Other as your previous reviews platform, you will be prompted to download a sample file by clicking on the Download template.

Then, you will need to add your reviews to the file and save the file with review information before importing it to Omnisend.

The template file you have downloaded contains columns that must be filled out with your actual reviews. This is necessary if you want to import your reviews to Omnisend.

To add a new review, you will need to add a new row in the file and fill out all the required information about your review. Attached below are guides on how to add rows in different apps you might use to work with spreadsheets.

The table below gives an overview of the data that you will need to fill out for each review. This data should be found either on your store admin end or your previous review app.

If the file containing reviews is successfully imported, any emails within it will be added as non-subscribers. If the reviewers were previously subscribed or unsubscribed to your newsletters, their subscription status will remain unchanged.

Once you have prepared the file, click Next in Omnisend.
