Shopify Reviews shut down on May 6, and to help Shopify merchants continue collecting and displaying reviews in their stores and messages, Omnisend developed the Product Reviews feature.
Within the Shopify ecosystem, it’s natural to wonder how Omnisend’s Product Reviews compare to other review apps. For this, we’ll put other review apps into two groups:
Standalone review apps, like Judge.me, Loox, reviews.io, and Stamped
Review features that are embedded alongside other features from apps like Yotpo, Klaviyo Reviews, etc.
Omnisend Product Reviews Compared with Standalone Review Apps
While Omnisend Product Reviews are aimed most directly at replacing the features from Shopify Reviews, we’re not focused on replacing standalone review apps (although you should only use one review app in your store).
Standalone review apps may have more features that cover extreme or edge cases that most merchants won’t encounter.

On the other hand, standalone review apps come with two downsides:
They have separate pricing. Meanwhile, Omnisend’s Product Reviews are already included in your paid plan. We also don’t charge for our drag & drop editor, A/B testing, & other features that others may charge for.
They may need to integrate with email & SMS marketing apps, which can cause some data quality or syncing issues.
Omnisend Product Reviews feature has similar functionality as Shopify Reviews, which we believe covers the needs of most merchants.

Omnisend Product Reviews Compared with Embedded Review Apps
Because Omnisend offers multiple features, including powerful email & SMS marketing, automation, segmentation & more, it makes more sense to compare us against other email marketing apps that have reviews embedded into their features.
Those include Yotpo and Klaviyo Reviews.

You can compare Omnisend’s & Klaviyo’s pricing here. Be aware that Klaviyo charges at least $25 for their Reviews app (for 250+ orders/month).
As an example, with 10,000 contacts, it’ll cost you:
$132 on Omnisend’s Standard plan vs. $175 for Klaviyo’s Email plan & Reviews app (32% more expensive);
$150 on Omnisend’s Pro (with free SMS) vs $265 for Klaviyo’s Email & SMS plan & Reviews app (76% more expensive).
You’ll also have to pay more for Yotpo.
Using 10,000 contacts as an example, you get 120,000 emails/month with Omnisend’s Standard plan for just $132. That also includes unlimited web push notifications, unlimited review collection, and 1,000 published reviews. On Yotpo, that would cost you $155 just for email, plus an additional $79 a month for reviews.
When we switch to the Pro plan for the same 10,000 contacts, Omnisend gives you:
unlimited emails
unlimited collected & published reviews
unlimited push notifications
plus 10,000 free SMS each month
— all for $150/month.
To get the same on Yotpo, you’d need to pay:
$72 for the same amount of SMS
At least $79 for reviews
Unknown amount for email (since they charge per email, and you get unlimited emails on Omnisend’s Pro plan). But let’s keep the same 120,000 emails for $155.
That will run you at least $300/month.
