Poptin is a 3rd party app that allows you to create pop-ups, opt-ins, and embedded forms in less than 2 minutes. Use advanced targeting triggers and convert more visitors into leads, subscribers & sales. Increase conversion rate with exit pop-ups, lead capture form widgets, and social widgets – it’s all on-brand & fully customizable.

Integrate Poptin with Omnisend to sync the contacts that you collect using Poptin Signup forms to Omnisend.

Benefits

Integrate Poptin with Omnisend and pass all the contact information collected by your Poptin Signup forms to Omnisend. Send Welcome emails to all customers collected by Poptin Signup forms through Omnisend. Use collected data to segment your customers and personalize your emails.

Setup Process

Firstly create an Omnisend API key and select all the custom permissions. Learn how to create an API key in Omnisend here.

Then open your Poptin Account and go to Design Settings of your popup -> Email and Integrations -> Add Integration.

Now select Omnisend from the List of Integrations and Paste the API key and Tag name you copied from your Omnisend account. The Tag part is optional but always recommended if you have several platforms integrated with your Omnisend account as it helps you segregate your Audience.

When you have successfully pasted the API key and added Relevant Tags just click the 'Approve' button to make the integration live.

Once you click the 'Approve' button, a test contact will be sent to your Omnisend account. Look for the test email by the name of "poptin check" in your Audience Tab.

If this contact has been passed successfully, it means that integration is working.

Don't forget to click on Publish Changes on the Top Right Corner after you save the API settings. This will save the integration for the Poptin once and for all.

What data is passed

Integration with Poptin allows passing the following properties:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address (subscribed status)

  • Phone number (subscribed status)

  • Any tags that you want

Custom properties aren't passed with this integration. If you'll add any custom fields to your Popup, the integration won't work and contacts won't be passed.

Welcome emails for Poptin subscribers

To send welcome emails to contacts passed from Poptin, you'll need to add a specific unique tag to all the contacts that are passed from Poptin. You can do so in the settings of the integration with Omnisend inside your Poptin account:

In this example, we're adding the 'source: poptin' tag, but you can use whatever one is convenient for you.

Then create a segment based on the tag that you're adding:

Then create Welcome automation by going to the Automation tab ➡️ New Workflow ➡️ Welcome. You can copy your Welcome automation if you already have one and would like to use the same workflow for Poptin subscribers.

Then switch the Signup trigger to Contact enters a segment. Set the segment that you've created on the first step, as a trigger filter.
