Setup Process
Step 1. From your Omnisend store, go to Store Settings → API keys.
Step 2. Click "create API key" → set all permissions, or for passing events at least → copy it and click save. Here's more info on generating API keys.
Step 3. Go to Releasit admin → Settings and Integrations → General → under "Enable or disable abandoned orders" check "Enable abandoned orders".
Step 4. Paste the key you have created in Omnisend previously in the Omnisend API key field and click save. Also make sure to click "Send test event" for the trigger to appear in Omnisend to further use for abandoned COD orders.
What Data is Passed
When abandoning a COD order, such data will be passed to Omnisend's profile apart from recovery link and respectful event:
First name;
Last name;
Email address with non-subscribed status (additional info on this status can be found here);
Both addresses in case you added 2 fields;
City;
State;
Zip code.
Please note that abandoned COD orders are only created if the customer entered a valid email or phone number after 15 minutes from abandonment.
Setting Up Your COD Form
Step 1. In your Releasit admin, go to Form Designer tab.
You can choose between popup and an embedded form.
Step 2. Then add the fields you would like to have. Editing options there:
Red blocks are disabled on your form. Use the eye button to enable them.
White blocks are active on your form.
Click the pencil button to edit a block.
Click the arrows buttons to change the position of a block.
Step 3. Lastly, set up your form's style and error messages.
Step 4. Additionally, make sure to go back to Settings and Integrations and check Visibility settings of your form.
Recover abandoned COD orders
Step 1. You should go to your Omnisend account → Automation tab → click "Create workflow".
You should be looking for Abandoned checkout automation.
Step 2. There select "Releaseit abandoned" custom event trigger.
You can disable "trigger inactivity time" setting and leave only 1 email in the automation.
Step 3. Then you can proceed to setting up your email content.
Make sure to change pre-added link for the abandoned checkout to then one, which will be passed with Releasit event → [[event.recovery_url]].
Instead of abandoned products block, feel free to utilize Product Recommender instead.
