Omnisend offers various ways to provide discounts to your customers. The discount Item is definitely the most friendly option, but its functionality depends on the eCommerce platform that you use:

  • An auto-generated discount code from Shopify, Bigcommerce, and WooCommerce is created automatically with the help of the Discount.

  • A fixed discount code from other eCommerce platforms is created manually in your store admin and inserted into the Discount.

Discount item setup

To add a Discount to your email, select Quick add on the left-hand sidebar → Drag and Drop Discount to email content.

Once you add the Discount to the Email message content and click on it, you will see two tabs with different settings.

Discount code

The discount code should be created manually for eCommerce platforms other than Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce. It would be best to generate the discount in your store admin before you add the discount to this Item.

The settings defining the products to which this discount can be applied or the maximum number of redemptions should be set in your store admin.

Along with the Discount code, you will be able to define the primary colors of the Item, including Text color, Border color, and Backgroud color.

To access more color options, click on + sign. There you will be able to type in hex color code and select any color you like using the color picker.

Layout

In the Layout tab, you may define the design of the Discount. Explore all the options, as you can change layout background color, paddings, alignment, and visibility settings.

If you want to show a discount on either Desktop or Mobile devices, scroll down to Display settings -> Choose which devices should show a discount item. You can show it to:

  • all devices;

  • mobile devices only;

  • desktop devices only.

Once you finalized editing your discount Item, it will automatically save all the changes 🚀

Discount code is an excellent way of grabbing the attention of the new customers, and at the same time, it is a perfect way of showing appreciation to the returning and long-time customers. It is now a lot easier to share discounts with your customers. Just add a Discount to your message and send it their way!

Linking Discount item

You may want to add a button with a link to the Link input field and re-direct your customers to the specified page of your store after clicking on the Redeem button.

It may be a home page, link to a specific collection, or even a personalized link to the cart with the products your customer abandoned (valid for Abandoned Cart automation only).

FAQ

Is it possible to offer a unique discount for my customers?

The only solution to this problem is to upload the discount codes as custom properties to your customers' profiles. In that case, you could add the discount codes to your Email Campaigns with a personalization option.

How can I restrict the discount to one use per customer?

We would recommend checking if your store platform offers the restriction for one use per email address.
