We ship new features and improvements every week to help you work faster, reach more customers, and get better results. Here's what's new in September.
Email Builder
Add Countdown Timers to Emails
You can now add a Countdown timer directly to emails in the Email Builder. There’s no need to use a third-party timer tool.
You can:
Set the end date and time.
Choose the
DD:HH:MM:SSformat.Select a standard or custom font.
Set the countdown color and alt text.
Upload a fallback image to show after the timer expires.
Available for: Paid plans except Pro Legacy. If you’re on the Free plan or Pro Legacy, upgrade your plan to use the Countdown timer.
Create Text-Only Emails
You can now create plain text emails with the Text-only Email Builder. Use it to send personal, lightweight messages in Email Campaigns and Automation Workflows, with support for personalization, links, and emojis.
💡 Use the Text-only Email Builder when a personal message is more effective than a designed email.
Customize Discount Blocks
You now have more control over every element in the Discount block. You can:
Show or hide the discount CTA button.
Customize the discount code’s font type and size.
Customize the expiry text’s font, size, and color.
Each element can be styled independently, making it easier to match discounts with the rest of your email design.
Additional Email Builder Improvements
The Email Builder now gives you more control over your content, images, and saved assets in Email Campaigns and Automation Workflows.
Image shapes: Adjust the corner radius to create rounded, circular, or oval images directly in the Email Builder.
Pixel dimensions while resizing: See an image’s width and height in pixels as you resize it.
Image file name tooltip: Hover over an image thumbnail in the desktop Email Builder to see its file name. Names longer than 60 characters are shortened while keeping the file extension visible.
Download images from the Image Library: Download images you previously uploaded so you can reuse them elsewhere or keep a backup.
Link and name tooltips: Hover over truncated links or names in the link panel to see their full values.
Superscript formatting: Apply superscript from the text toolbar.
New social icons: Add native LINE, Reddit, and Bluesky icons to the Social media block.
Bulk delete saved content: Select and delete multiple items from Saved → Universal Layouts and Saved → Items.
Signup Forms
Collect Information Across Multiple Form Steps
Information fields can now appear on any step of a multi-step Signup Form. When Omnisend recognizes a contact, the submitted information is attached to that existing contact profile. This means you can ask for preferences, birthdays, or other details before asking for an email address.
You can also ask existing subscribers for additional information without asking for their email address again.
Limitations:
Wheel of Fortune and Back in Stock forms are not supported yet.
Landing pages do not support cookie detection, so an email address does not prefill there.
Add Multiple Submit Buttons to One Form Step
You can now add multiple submit buttons to a single form step and map each button to a contact custom property.
The value saved depends on which button the visitor selects. This lets you ask a question, save the answer to the contact profile, and use it for segmentation while collecting other data in the same form.
Control Country Codes for Phone Fields
When a Signup Form includes a phone number field, you can now control which countries appear in the country-code dropdown.
You can either select the countries you want to allow or exclude specific countries. This helps keep SMS signups focused on the markets you serve.
Scheduled Forms Disable Automatically
Scheduled Signup Forms now automatically disable after their end date passes.
Once the scheduled period ends, the form stops showing to visitors and is marked as disabled automatically. This helps you keep your Forms list up to date without extra manual work.
Legal Checkboxes Unchecked by Default
Legal checkboxes in Signup Forms are now unchecked by default.
The checkbox now stays unchecked in the form builder, matching what visitors see on your live form.
Omnisend MCP
Manage Forms Through MCP
With Omnisend MCP, you can now also create, view, update, and delete Forms and Form A/B tests. You can also access Form templates.
This expands the ways you can manage Forms through MCP, from creating new forms to updating or deleting existing ones.
Use Send Time Optimization with Omnisend MCP
Email Campaigns created through Omnisend MCP can now use Send Time Optimization. This lets you create Campaigns with MCP and schedule delivery for each Contact’s optimal send time in Omnisend.
Omnisend AI
AI Recommendations
AI Recommendations have been running in your account across Signup Forms, Email Campaign audiences, and Automation Workflows.
Omnisend AI checks your setup and suggests opportunities to improve it. Depending on the recommendation, you can preview the suggested change, apply it, test it, or dismiss it.
You may see recommendations to:
Improve Signup Forms.
Choose more relevant Email Campaign audiences.
Improve Automation Workflow timing, exits, follow-ups, or A/B test decisions.
Review Forms and Automation recommendations directly in Reports AI.
More Powerful Forms AI Assistant
Forms AI Assistant can now help you create and configure more of your Signup Forms. You can use it to:
Configure form settings, including:
Scheduling
Targeting
Visibility
Frequency
Display settings
Contact tags
Post-submit redirect URL
Create Back in Stock forms: Generate the form end-to-end, including its targeting settings.
Create Wheel of Fortune forms: Ask the Forms AI Assistant to create a new form or copy an existing one with a Wheel of Fortune. You can specify the wheel slices and discount codes.
Add countdown timers: Ask the Forms AI Assistant to add and configure a countdown timer for a form it creates or copies.
Create form visuals: Generate images and background images directly in the Forms builder.
Improved AI Segment Builder
Segment creation now uses a new AI agent that provides faster, more accurate responses and handles more complex requests.
The improved AI agent understands the data available in your account more effectively and helps create better segment conditions with less manual correction.
Automation Workflows
Merge Conditional Splits into a Shared Continuation
Conditional Split paths can now merge back into one shared continuation. You can now:
Continue both YES and NO split paths through one shared path.
Add blocks directly below the Split.
Drag and reorder Split blocks after placing them.
Move blocks between the YES and NO paths and the shared continuation.
Use delays at the end of split paths without incorrect unnecessary-delay warnings.
Total Cart Item Count in Automation Conditions
If your store is on Shopify or BigCommerce, you can now use Total Cart Item Count in the Added product to cart condition.
The property is available when setting an Automation Workflow trigger or exit condition. This lets you start or stop a workflow when a contact’s cart reaches a specific number of items, so you can create more targeted customer journeys.
Campaigns
Configure UTM Tags for A/B Variants
You can now set up UTM tracking separately for each A/B test variant directly in the A/B test setup for your Email Campaigns. This helps you distinguish variant traffic in external analytics and compare performance.
Audience & Segments
Clearer Contact Profile Details
Contact profiles now make Email and SMS consent details and location information easier to understand and scan.
Opt-out details: See the specific reason a contact was automatically unsubscribed, such as Blocked email domain.
Grouped details: Review information under Last email channel, Last SMS channel, and Location.
Last detected location: An info tooltip explains that the location is based on the contact’s IP address.
See Active and Archived Segments Separately
You can now switch between Active and Archived segments using the tabs above the segments table. Each tab shows the number of segments in that category.
If any segments were automatically archived since your last visit, a popover appears on the Archived tab with a View archived segments option.
Add Contacts with Clearer Validation
The Audience → Contacts → Add single contact experience now provides specific inline error messages for:
Invalid email addresses
Invalid phone numbers
Duplicate contacts
Other issues that prevent a contact from being added
The validation button is now called Add contact. Enter an email address, a phone number, or both, and select the consent checkbox to add the contact.
More Reliable List Cleaning
If you have a large contact list, you can now start List Cleaning without the process timing out.
If List Cleaning can’t start, you’ll see a clear message explaining the reason, such as:
Your account has no contacts.
Your list doesn’t contain enough contacts.
You don’t have the required permission.
The selected segments aren’t available.
Reports
More Clarity and Control in Reports
We’ve made several updates to help you get more from your reports, from comparing A/B test results to reviewing performance by hour and exporting data:
Custom date ranges in Deliverability reports: Select the exact period you want to review in Email sender domain and SMS phone number country reports.
Export Email domain performance data: Download report data as a CSV file for further analysis outside Omnisend.
A/B test Segment performance filters: Compare Version A, Version B, or all versions across the entire period, A/B test period, or winner period.
Last updated by in Campaign reports: See who last changed an Email, SMS, Push, or A/B Email Campaign.
Sent SMS previews: Preview the message recipients received from the Campaign list or Campaign report.
Sortable Link Performance: Sort links by Unique Clicks or Total Clicks in Campaign and Automation Workflow reports.
Device and Email client reports for Automation Workflows: Review device and email client engagement with message and Opens/Clicks filters.
Hourly Automation Workflow performance: View a single day as 24 hourly bars in the Channel performance over time chart.
Placed orders in First 24-hour performance: See when attributed orders occur after sending an Email Campaign.
Deliverability and Compliance
Manage Contact-Level Email Open-Tracking Consent
Omnisend allows you to manage email open tracking according to contact consent and privacy requirements. A new Track opens based on consent setting is now available in Store settings → Email → Email open tracking.
How it works:
When consent-based open tracking is enabled, Omnisend checks each contact’s recorded tracking consent before adding the tracking pixel.
If a contact doesn’t have the required consent, their email opens may not be tracked. This can affect open-rate reporting, open-based segments, Automation conditions, and open-rate A/B tests.
Marketing subscription consent and open-tracking consent are separate. The setting is off by default, so you can configure it according to the consent requirements that apply to your business.
Verify Your Toll-Free Number to Send SMS to Canada
Placeholder: This feature hasn’t been released yet. The details below may change after the release.
If you send SMS messages to Canada, you now need to complete TFN verification. The process follows the same steps as TFN verification for SMS sending to the US.
Placeholde image
Add Custom SMS Text-to-Join Keywords
If you send SMS messages to the US or Canada, you can add up to three custom opt-in keywords in your SMS settings.
The default keywords continue to work:
JOIN
SUBSCRIBE
START
Use keywords your audience recognizes, such as your brand name. Unsubscribe and help keywords can’t be used as opt-in keywords.
Store Settings
Set a Default Country for Subscriber Preference Page Phone Fields
You can now set a Default country for the phone number field in Store settings → Preference management → Phone number field.
When a subscriber doesn’t have a saved phone number, the selected country prefix and flag appear automatically. If a contact already has a phone number, it remains unchanged.
Manage Your Store’s Default Currency
You can now set or change your store’s default currency in Store settings → Store information → Default currency.
The default currency is used to label prices and revenue across your account, including your reports, Campaigns, Automation Workflows, and exports.
Omnisend API
Retrieve Event Property Values Through the API
The Event Property Values API returns the values stored for selected event properties, such as contact.email or order.currency.
Use these values to populate filters, dropdowns, and segment pickers with data that already exists in your Omnisend account.
You can request values for one event at a time and up to 10 properties per request. The API currently supports standard engagement events, such as opens, clicks, sends, subscribes, and spam reports. Custom events aren’t supported yet.
More API Capabilities
The Omnisend API now gives you more ways to manage Forms and create optimized Email Campaigns.
Manage Forms: Create, view, update, and delete Forms and Form A/B tests. You can also access Form templates.
Use Send Time Optimization: Enable Send Time Optimization when creating Email Campaigns through the API. This lets you schedule delivery for each contact’s optimal send time in Omnisend.
Ecommerce Integrations
Shopify Contact Sync Improvements
You can now use state or province data from Shopify to create more precise segments and target your Email Campaigns.
The data is added to the contact’s address and is available for new Shopify imports from August 10, 2026. Existing Contacts aren’t backfilled, so the field populates gradually as new data is imported.
BigCommerce Customer Groups Sync to Contacts
BigCommerce customer groups now sync to Omnisend as the customerGroup custom contact property.
When a customer’s group changes in BigCommerce, the property updates automatically. You can use this data for segmentation and targeting, including wholesale, trade, VIP, or staff pricing groups.
More Reliable WooCommerce Product Imports
WooCommerce product and product category data now syncs through Omnisend’s backend using the WooCommerce API. This makes the sync more reliable and helps product updates reach Omnisend faster.
Integrations
New Integration: Figma
Connect Figma to Omnisend to automatically sync your designs to the Image Library as PNG files.
Create email banners, social media graphics, and other marketing visuals in Figma, then use them in Omnisend without downloading and uploading files manually.

UI & UX Improvements

Connected billing and card information: Complete both steps in one flow when adding or updating billing details in Account Settings.
Bulk invoice downloads: Select multiple invoices in Account Management → Billing History and download them as one ZIP file.
Clearer add-on purchase information: The add-on purchase flow now shows what’s included and the total price in one place. The available options depend on your plan and the add-on you choose.
See which card paid an invoice: Invoice details now show the card charged for that specific invoice, including its last 4 digits. This helps you reconcile invoices when you use multiple cards.
Automatic DNS provider detection: Omnisend detects your DNS provider during domain setup, so you don’t need to select it manually.
Review Forms A/B test recommendations: The setup window shows each step of both form versions, making it easier to review the changes before launching the test.
Clearer sender domain message: When you enter a domain that’s already in use elsewhere, a banner now clearly explains why it can’t be connected to your store and lets you know that you can verify ownership if the domain belongs to you.
Improved SMS link-shortening settings: In-app tooltips added to help you understand the difference between Omnisend’s SMS shared short-link domain and your verified branded domain.
Scrollable profile menu: Access all profile-menu options, including Switch store and Log out, at high browser zoom levels.
Last-used brand across devices: Return to the brand you used most recently, regardless of the browser or device you sign in from.
