Before You Begin

  • Platinum subscription required: You need a Platinum Big Cartel subscription to integrate with Omnisend.

  • Creating a new Omnisend account: If you don't have an Omnisend account, create one here.

  • Connecting multiple stores: If you already use Omnisend with another store, register a new store under your existing account before following the steps below.

  • Historical orders: Orders placed before connecting to Omnisend will not sync. Only orders placed after integration can trigger Automation Workflows or be used for segmentation.

Integrate Big Cartel with Omnisend

You can start the connection from either your Big Cartel account or your Omnisend account.

Option 1: Connect from Big Cartel

Step 1. In your Big Cartel account, go to Marketing & promotion in the Apps list and locate Omnisend.

Step 2. Click Add to your shop to open the Omnisend app page.

Step 3. Click Connect to authorize the connection. (If you logged into the wrong Big Cartel shop, click Switch shops).

Step 4. Click Connect your Omnisend Account to link your existing Omnisend account. If you don't have an account, create one here.

Step 5. A connection wizard will prompt you to confirm which Omnisend store is being connected. To change the store, click Switch store. To proceed, click Authorize access.

Step 6. You'll see a confirmation page acknowledging the successful connection. You're ready to build campaigns, automations, and segments. To learn more, check our Onboarding section.

Option 2: Connect from Omnisend

Step 1. In your Omnisend account, click Connect Store in the Dashboard or click your Store Name (top left) and select Connect Your Store.

Step 2. Select Big Cartel from the platform list and click Add Omnisend App.

Step 3. You'll be redirected to a connection Wizard → Click Add Omnisend app. You'll be redirected to the Big Cartel app page. Follow Steps 2–6 above to complete the integration.

  • Contacts: View and manage all Big Cartel customers in your Omnisend Audience.

  • Products & Product Categories: Products, categories, and their changes (additions, deletions, updates) sync automatically, so your emails display correct product details.

  • Orders: Use order data to trigger transactional Automation Workflows and view order activity on contact profiles.

  • Carts: Abandoned carts and checkouts sync to Omnisend so you can send abandoned cart emails.

FAQ

Why can't I connect if I have a Diamond plan?

Big Cartel requires a Platinum subscription for app integrations. Even if you have a higher-tier plan like Diamond, verify with Big Cartel that your plan supports third-party apps. If the connection fails, contact our Support Team, and we'll help you with the process.

Do I need a developer to connect Big Cartel?

The standard Big Cartel connection doesn't require any coding.
